TOGETHER THE FUTUREDistrict Excellence Achieved in 2015/16The District Plan was circulated to all Clubs in June 2015 and set out clear objectives under thetheme of which the District would aim to achieve in 2015/16. Every singleClub, President and District Officer has made a great contribution in the last twelve months andshould be hugely proud of the work done.There have been many new initiatives, great increases in participation and some remarkableachievements. Here are the highlights - the results that demonstrate our District really has movedforward...

YOUTH

MEMBERSHIP� District Membership has increased (the first time in many years)

� 42 Clubs recruited a new member, of these 20 clubs recruited 3 or more members, of these 6 clubs recruited 5or more, of these 2 clubs recruited 10 or more members

� Female Membership has increased as a % of total membership

New Lions following their induction at Edwinstowe and The Dukeries

� Active promotion of all Youth Projects by District Team

� Club participation increased in District Youth Projects particularly the PeacePoster Competition

� New Clubs took part in Young Leaders in Service

� Increase in Youth Football participants

� Eco Project launched and ongoing

� Two new LEO Clubs formed, Southwell Minster School and Edwinstowe Manor Academy

Communication and Public Relations� Inaugural District Lions Awareness

Week huge success, 22 Clubs tookpart.

� Huge increase in social mediacommunication... Many clubs are nowactively using Facebook to promotetheir events

� DG reported every single event hecarried out on Facebook

� District has Twitter, YouTube andInstagram sites and pages

� Through partnership formed with County Linx Radio the District can now offer IT/Social media training tomembers as well as a mobile studio

� District Newsletter has been produced on time every month and has been an outstanding publication

� Two PR workshops held at District Convention

� World Sight Day run very successfully across the District

� Message in a Wallet run successfully as a District Project

� 40% increase in use of Message in a Bottle

� Increase in Diabetes activities

� Disability Awareness Day run for the first time

� New Clubs involved with Foodbanks

� District project involving Air Ambulance initiated.

� DG’s Wife’s Charitable Appeal for Multiple Sclerosisraised over £10,000

� New Community and Service ideas discussed atDistrict Convention

� For first time in many years LCI Grant obtained...£12,867 for Air Ambulance helicopter ventilator

� Historic Twinning Agreement signed between District 105E andDistrict 103 Nord in France. This will provide huge opportunities

� Loomba Foundation Partnership very successful

� In MD 105, District 105E gave the largest % of donations to LCI

INTERNATIONAL

CONVENTION� District Convention - maximum possible

attendance, superbly organised by theVale of Belvoir Lions, with District Teamleading eight Workshops

� New format of shortened Business Session& Workshops in afternoon worked

� Members went away with new thinking andideas

Convention Social programme was trulymemorable

A memorable District Convention

Providing support for the Air Ambulance Service

� District dues not increased for 2015/16

� No increase in MD dues agreed at 2016 MD Convention

� Two very successful workshops run on CIO. 90% of Clubs attended

� District 105E was the only District to achieve 100% return of CIO questionnaires by deadline

FINANCE

� Every President had opportunity to be involved inplanning prior to 2015/16,

� Talent Development programme initiated

� Discussions took place at Convention, Cabinet andZone meetings on how LIONS could modernise

� Regular DG Team meetings and Strategic DevelopmentTeam meetings held

� DG led from the front attending 36 Charters,33 Club Visits and 38 Events/ Club Projects

LEADERSHIP

Attendance at Charters and other Club events

� Great enthusiasm for Centennial Celebrationscreated by District Team

� Number of high profile/events initiatives being organised

The District Plan was very stretching for 2015/16 but together we haven't just delivered it, we have exceeded expectations.

What's more we have had fun doing it! In all it has been a truly magnificent achievement.
