Introduction & PhilosophyThe West Chicago Park District’s Keppler Academy Preschool focuses on the developmental needs of children from three to five years old. Keppler Academy is designed to give children the tools and experiences necessary to assure a positive transition to kindergarten. Our program offers a warm, nurturing, and friendly environment where children can explore, create, and flourish. Socialization skills and independence are developed through a variety of daily skills and exercises.

Our philospophy is that all children learn through hands-on experiences, exploration, and positive interactions with others. Every child is unique and will develop at their own pace. We foster an environment that will help all children succeed emotionally, physically, and socially. Every child has their own learning style and we give many options to explore and build on those abilities. (GR)

We-go community theatre presents tarzan the musical

Disney’s high-flying musical TARZAN swings into West Chicago! Based on Edgar Rice Burrough’s Tarzan of the Apes and the Disney animated film, TARZAN tells the story of an infant boy orphaned on the shores of West Africa. Taken in and raised by a tribe of gorillas, the young boy strives for acceptance by his ape father while grappling with his uniqueness. When a human expedition enters their territory, Tarzan- now a man - encounters strangers like himself for the first time.

With heart-pumping music by rock legend Phil Collins, a book by TONY Award-winning playwright, David Henry Hwang, TARZAN is a show for the entire family to enjoy!

Yin YogaEnjoy the healing benefits of Yin Yoga for both the mind and the body. This style of yoga is a more meditative approach with a physical focus that goes much deeper to access the deep connective tissues within the body that encompass a joint, such as the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. Yin Yoga postures are done mainly on the floor, and are unique in that you are asked to relax in the posture, soften the muscles and focus on the breath as you hold each posture for several minutes. As one ages, flexibility in the joints decreases, and Yin Yoga is a wonderful way to maintain that flexibility and live a healthy way of life. (BK)
