UNA RECREATION POLICIESDISCOUNTS (UNA, UBC, UTOWN)The UNA provides program discounts for UNA residents, UBC faculty and staff, UBC students, and UTown@UBC residents. Status must be validated in-person prior to registration in order to receive the discount. Please see Page 46 for more information.

REGISTRATION AND CANCELLATION• Registration is required for most classes.• Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Popular programs fill up quickly!• Programs may be cancelled if there isn’t sufficient registration 3-5 days prior to the start date.• Unavoidable class cancellations will be made up at the end of the session when possible.• Drop in policies: First priority is for those participants who are registered. Registered participants have up to 10 minutes after the program start time to show up. All no-show spots at that time will be sold to the drop-in wait list. At 9:00am the day of the program, you may call 604-822-4227 to put your name on the drop-in wait list.

PROGRAM FEES & REFUNDS• Drop-in fees must be paid before each class and receipt must be provided to the instructor. • Applicable taxes will be added to the price of programs and fitness centre memberships.• Full refunds will be issued for any programs cancelled by the UNA.• Refund requests must be submitted no later than 1 hour after the second class, after which refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis.• Refunds are prorated with an administration fee of $5 per person.• Fitness Centre refunds will only be offered for documented medical conditions.

COMMUNITY SPACESCommunity Centre staff reserve the right to make changes to room schedules. The Living Room at the Old Barn Community Centre and the Lounge at the Wesbrook Community Centre are public spaces and not available for private events. These rooms may be reserved for UNA programs.

PHOTOSPhotos may be taken of program and event participants for marketing and promotions by the UNA and may appear in UNA print materials, websites or social media. Please inform the Program Coordinator if you have any concerns about having photos taken of you or your child.

Davide has a foundation in fine arts plus 15 years of teaching and 20+ years in interior design. He has a Diploma in Fine Arts w/ a Major in Painting and Architecture from University of Mexico.

Winson, founder of The 8th Dimension Comic Studio in Vancouver, has been teaching children how to tap into their creative minds through various drawing disciplines for 10+ years.

Three passionate dancers and musicians: Alice Hong, Pearson Yao, Nancy Wu. They are youth who can teach and choreograph hip hop dances and arrange original music for pop band members.

Alice is involved in the Book Club, Let’s Cook Club, Seniors’ Working Group and Walk & Talk Club. She uses interesting and varied topics to lead discussions in ESL conversational classes.

Heidi has been teaching yoga for 10+ years. She has trained in various styles of Yoga and Fitness, and is passionate about wellbeing practices and sharing therapeutic yoga principles.

Nobel Softball Diamond is a grass softball diamond located in Wesbrook Village at the corner of Wesbrook Mall and Ross Drive. This softball diamond provides recreational opportunities for residents living in the UNA community.

UNA Community Field is an artificial turf field located at 3228 Ross Drive (beside University Hill Secondary School). This field provides our community with a full sized soccer field that can be booked year round.
