BACHELOR OF ARTS IN
ISLAMIC STUDIES
The BA in Islamic Studies is a four-year sequence
of instructional coursework with strong
emphasis on Islamic and Religious Studies,
Qur’anic and Hadith sciences, Islamic legal
theory, classical Islamic theology, philosophy,
and Islamic spirituality, integrated into a liberal
arts core including contemporary social science,
economic and political theories.
MASTER OF ARTS IN
ISLAMIC STUDIES
The MA Program provides students with a
rigorous background in both traditional and
analytical approaches to Islamic Studies. The
program comprises 36 credit hours and offers a
choice of two distinct areas of concentration:
“Islamic Theology” or “Islam and Global Studies”.
Students prepare a thesis based on original
research as part of their degree requirements.
MASTER OF DIVINITY IN
ISLAMIC STUDIES
The Graduate Masters of Divinity in Islamic
Studies is a three to four year program designed
specifically for students who wish to become
professional and credentialed Muslim leaders,
spiritual care givers, or chaplains.
The MDIS program entails 72 credit hours of
academic study, pastoral education and
fieldwork/internship experience.
