First Reading — The barren deserts will rejoice and
flower. Tired bodies will receive strength. Aching hearts
will be made glad (Isaiah 35:1-6a, 10).
Psalm — Lord, come and save us (Psalm 146).
Second Reading — Be patient, for the coming of the Lord

12TH ANNUAL FRANCEANE BUNNER MEMORIAL
COAT AND SWEATER DRIVE
It’s time to go through closets and drawers and gather all those
coats, sweaters, and other warm clothing items not being worn
any more and:
1) Put them in plastic bags (lawn bags)
2) Mark/Label the bags Men, Women, or Children
3) Bring them to St. Albert no later than Sunday, December
18th.
Please help our less fortunate brothers and sisters have something
warm to wear when it gets cold this winter.
Let’s make our drive a grand success again this year!

Tercer Domingo de Adviento 11 de diciembre de 2016 Volverán a casa los rescatados por el Señor, vendrán a Sión con cánticos de júbilo, coronados de perpetua alegría. — Isaías 35:10a
Queridos hermanos y hermanas,
La gente a la que Jesús estaba hablando hoy en el
Evangelio buscaban algo más. No buscaban el poder, la
popularidad, las riquezas, "alguien lujosamente vestido", o
algo temporal como una "caña sacudida por el viento".
Estaban buscando algo más permanente; buscaban la
salvación y la vida eterna por la predicación del profeta
más estupendo que haya vivido, Juan el Bautista. Creemos
que tal vez sea suficiente sólo con escuchar las palabras del
profeta y ojalá ser salvado. Para nosotros ser más grande
que el profeta, Juan el Bautista, es inimaginable. Aquí está
el profeta más importante, nacido de una mujer, y Jesús
dice que podemos ser mas grandiosos que él? ¿Cómo
puede ser?
Antes de la venida de Cristo, aquellos que querían la
salvación vivían por la ley dada a Moisés y escuchando a
los profetas. En Cristo, toda la profecía ha sido cumplida y
una nueva ley ha tomado el lugar. Viviendo por las
palabras de Cristo, Su ley y Su amor, están viviendo en el
nuevo reino establecido por Cristo. El mas bajo en este
Reino es el siervo, de los que obedecen y siguen, y viven de
lo que Cristo ha dicho. Este siervo, este discípulo será
estupendo, no sólo porque ha oído de Dios mismo, sino
porque está siguiendo y viviendo sus enseñanzas. Dios
vino y le hablo a Su pueblo, a nosotros, para que podamos
tener vida, una vida de alegría y grandeza más allá de
nuestra imaginación. Esperemos con afán la venida de
Nuestro Señor y Salvador, la fuente de nuestro amor y
alegría verdadera.

afortunados a tener algo de protección contra las
temperaturas bajas del invierno.
