What’s the buzz “ Tell me what’s happening...?

As everyone knows Father Martin had fusion surgery on his neck on Tuesday. I am very happy to report that the surgery went well and Father Martin is recovering and resting comfortably. Please continue to pray for his complete recovery. I am sure he would appreciate all of the prayers from his parish home. The sooner he recovers the sooner he can return to saying masses here at St. E’s!

The process for a new roof has begun. It is a very time consuming process working with different architects and roofers to have all of the plans drawn up. They will then need to go to the City Of Crestwood for permits. They are anticipating at least another 3 weeks before they can get to that step. In the meantime, Father Martin has decided to hire someone to come in and give us a quick patch on the worst sections of the roof. It is an attempt to stop any further floods in the foyer before the roof can be replaced.

We are pleased to report that the welcome center has seen visitors and new parishioners alike since it opened. It appears that people truly do appreciate the opportunity to connect with current parishioners. However, due to vacation schedules there will be no welcome center for the month of June. If anyone is interested in helping out after a Saturday evening Mass or a Sunday 10:30 A.M. mass, please let us know.

Father Mark Chrismer is hosting a Morning with Mary Mother of Priests conference. The morning will begin with Mass at 8:30 A.M. after registration and end with lunch. The conference will be held at St. Elizabeth Saturday, June 13th. They would love to have a large showing of parish women in attendance! Please email [email protected] or call 314-275-0890 for information.

“News Around Town”

Pauline pilgrimage to Rome and Piedmont.

Embark on a trip unlike any other! For eleven days, between Oct. 19 and 30, 2015, follow in the footsteps of Sts. Peter and Paul in the Eternal City and of the saints of the Pauline Family in the foothills of the Alps. Walk the sacred places directly connected with the stories of Peter and Paul, including the Jewish Quarter and other spots you would never see otherwise. Included in the Rome segment is the Wednesday General Audience with Pope Francis during the World Synod of Bishops on the family. A stopover in Assisi then leads north to Turin, Alba, Susa, and more, to encounter Blessed James Alberione, Venerable Thecla Merlo, and other saintly Paulines—past and present. Mass at the Shroud of Turin and a visit to St. John Bosco, spiritual influence on the formation of the Pauline Family, rounds out the pilgrimage. The Daughters of St. Paul and the Society of St. Paul will be your spiritual and cultural guides throughout. The cost is $3,400. It includes airfare to and from Kennedy Airport, accommodations, two meals per day, fees, and gratuities, except baggage handling. Bove Travel, Brooklyn, can work with you to plan your flights to and from NYC. For more information, contact Sr. Margaret J. Obrovac, FSP, at 210-393-6079 (cell). Join us for a pilgrimage that will put “skin” on the men and women apostles you thought you knew...or never knew. Rediscover the way God is moving in your life, blessing you and blessing others through you.
