ADOPT A DAY TO … WATER THE GARDENS AT THE

CHURCHES A few volunteers are still needed

to water the beautiful flowers at the Churches. With enough volunteers the time commitment will be 20 - 30 minutes per week. This year the area at St. Brigid church has been split into two areas – Plaza area and the parking lot level. Hoses and watering cans are provided. Time to water can be early morning or in the evening. Families are welcome to adopt a Church to water. A great opportunity for those teens who may need service hours. If you are interested in helping, please call the Parish Office at 908-234-1265.

PARISH INTERCESSORY PRAYER GROUP “Lord, teach us to pray” Luke 11:1 The Bible is filled with those who excel at praying: Abraham, Moses, Ruth and of course our Holy Mother Mary. Prayer is a powerful tool given to us to enter into relationship with Him and to be

used for the benefit of all His children. Are you good at praying? Would you like to be? Come join us as we meet to pray for the needs of the Parish. We will be meeting at the Parish Center Monday evenings at 7:15 PM. Starting July 16. If you are interested, curious or have a prayer request call Denise O’Callaghan at 908 234-1524.

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION “…as a matter of equality your abundance at the present time should supply their want, so that their abundance may supply your want, that there may be equality.” 2 CORINTHIANS 8:14 We are responsible not only for our own lives, but for the lives of those around us. It is important that we not only grow, nurture and share our gifts; but that we also teach our children and encourage others to do the same. This is the communal aspect of our Catholic faith. We are the “Body of Christ”. We are called to be dependent on each other and not live in isolation.

PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES CHRISTMAS PARTY

The Christmas Party for children and young adults with special needs will take place on Saturday, December 15, 2018 (1:30 PM – 3:30 PM). More information to follow.

GREETING MINISTRY The St. Elizabeth-St. Brigid Parish family always wants to ensure all feel welcomed in both our Churches. To support that objective, we recently added a Mass greeter

ministry to the various ministries of our Parish, specifically at the Saturday, 5PM and Sunday 11:30 AM St. Brigid Masses. Existing, new and potential parishioners have provided positive comments on the welcoming provided by the greeters. We would love to add this role to all our Masses. If you want to, in a small way, show your love for our faith and faith community, and can extend a warm smile or handshake to entrants into our Masses, please let us know. All that is required is to show up 10 or 15 minutes prior to the Mass you typically attend and greet folks as they enter the Church. You never know when such a simple gesture can influence unsettled hearts or brighten someone’s day. Please contact [email protected] if you are interested and would like to learn more!

PRAYER FOR OUR COUNTRY God our Father, Giver of life, we entrust the United States of America to Your loving care. You are the rock on which this nation was founded.

You alone are the true source of our cherished rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Reclaim this land for Your glory

and dwell among Your people. Send Your Spirit to touch the hearts

of our nation´s leaders. Open their minds to the great worth

of human life and the responsibilities that accompany human freedom.

Remind Your people that true happiness is rooted in seeking and doing Your will.

Through the intercession of Mary Immaculate, Patroness of our land,

grant us the courage to reject the "culture of death."

Lead us into a new millennium of life. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen. http://www.catholic.org/prayers/
