Dear Parishioners and Friends, Peace and Blessings! Welcome back to Mass! It is so wonderful to be able to open the doors again and let everyone in, with or without masks. Remember, if not vaccinated you must wear a mask. As Pope Francis said, “It is a moral obliga on to get vaccinat-ed, which can save your life and the lives of others.” He called it “an ethical op on because it concerns your life but also that of others.” Beginning this weekend, we will live stream Sunday Mass only. The obliga on to a end Mass is back except for those unable to a end because of age or health reasons. While some organiza ons in the parish are star ng up again, the Spanish Prayer Group will begin in August and under new leadership appointed by me. Other groups will de-cide when to start in person mee ngs. At mee ngs, masks will be worn by those not vaccinated. The Gospel for today reminds us that the Eucharist is a memorial of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. We believe that Jesus is truly present to us in the elements of bread and wine. Each me we celebrate this sacrament, we prepare for the Kingdom of God. This celebra on, as the Second Va can Coun-cil taught us, is the source and summit of the Chris an life.

Queridos Feligreses y Amigos, ¡Paz y bendiciones! ¡Bienvenidos de nuevo a la Misa! Es maravilloso poder volver a abrir las puertas y dejar entrar a todos, con o sin másca-ras. Recuerde, si no está vacunado debe usar una mascarilla. Co-mo dijo el Papa Francisco, "Es una obligación moral vacunarse, lo que puede salvar su vida y la vida de los demás". Lo llamó "una opción é ca porque se refiere a su vida pero también a la de los demás". A par r de este fin de semana, solo transmi remos en vivo la misa dominical. La obligación de asis r a misa ha vuelto, excepto para aquellos que no pueden asis r por mo vos de edad o de salud. Mientras algunas organizaciones en la parroquia están comenzando nuevamente, el Grupo de Oración en Español co-menzará en agosto y bajo un nuevo liderazgo designado por mí. Otros grupos decidirán cuándo comenzar las reuniones en perso-na. En las reuniones, quienes no estén vacunados usarán másca-ras. El Evangelio de hoy nos recuerda que la Eucaris a es un memorial del sacrificio de Cristo en la cruz. Creemos que Jesús está verdaderamente presente para nosotros en los elementos del pan y el vino. Direc vas actualizadas desde el 30 de mayo: · A par r del 28 de mayo, ya no se requerirán máscaras para las personas completamente vacunadas. Si no están
completamente vacunadas, se les pide encarecidamente a las personas que sigan las pautas de los CDC y usen una mascarilla en lugares públicos. Se debe informar a los feligreses que si se vacunan, ya no se les exige que usen una máscara. No es necesario que los feligreses muestren prueba de vacunación. are strongly encouraged to follow CDC guidance and wear a face mask in public se ngs. Parishioners should be informed that if they are vaccinated, they are no longer required to wear a mask. It is not required for parishion-ers to show proof of vaccina on. Anyone not fully vaccinated should wear a mask. Any vaccinated person pre-ferring to wear a mask should feel free to do so.
· Churches and parish facili es may return to 100 per cent capacity with no social distancing for both indoor and outdoor services and ac vi es, as of June 4, 2021. Churches and mee ng spaces should con nue to be sani zed a er each liturgy, event or mee ng.
· Parishes are no longer required to register people for Mass. Collec ons may be taken up. It is preferable to use long handled baskets. Parishioners should also be encour-aged to use electronic giving.

Catechist volunteers As our program expands and as we offer addi on-al classes, we will be in need of Catechists and as-sistants helping and teaching in English and or Spanish languages. Pope Francis has ins tuted a lay ministry of cate-chists along with a rite of ins tu on in response to an “urgent need today to bring the Gospel to the contemporary world.”
