My dear brothers and sisters, As a child, I was often told “If you finish your homework, you can watch TV” or “if you clean your room, you can go out and play.” How many of us actually could relate to that? Many of us, right? In the Gospel today, we hear Jesus say that to us. “If you love me, you would keep my commandments.” I believe that anyone who has a relationship with God, loves God and is doing their best in keeping their commandments. Can we all improve, I believe so. The commandments of loving God and loving neighbor, the commandments in which were told to us in the New Testament are very much connected to the 10 commandments in the Old Testament. The first three commandments are focused on our love for God, and the next 7 are focused on each other, our neighbors. When we love God, we are loving our neighbors. When we love our neighbors, then we are loving God. We are followers of Jesus. We are Christ’s disciples. How can we improve? One way to reflect on what we need to do, is simply reflect on how we live the 10 commandments. Remember, the commandments of the new testament are connected to the commandments of the Old Testament. Let us look at think about these commandments. Remember, the first three are about God? The others are about our relationship with ourselves and others. I. Do I put God first in my life?
II. Do I take the Lord’s name in vain?
III. How do I keep holy the Lord’s Day?
IV. How do I respect my parents, my supervisors, the elderly?
V. You shall not kill. Have I kill someone? Maybe not physically. Have I killed their spirit by
disrespecting them or talking bad about them.
VI. You shall not commit adultery? Am I faithful to my spouse? In my thoughts and in actions? How am I respecting myself?
VII. Have stolen or cheated on one thing or another?
VIII. Do I lie?
IX. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife? If I am married, am I coveting someone else? If I am single, am I respecting the sexualty of others?
X. You shall not covet your neighbors’ goods? Am I greedy and prideful that I am not happy with what I have?
Today’s Gospel says, If you love me, you will keep my commandments. Are we?

Mis queridos hermanos y hermanas, Cuando era niño, a menudo me decían "si terminas tu tarea, puedes mirar televisión" o "si limpias tu habitación, puedes salir y jugar". ¿Cuántos de nosotros realmente podríamos relacionarnos con eso? Muchos de nosotros, ¿verdad? En el Evangelio de hoy, escuchamos a Jesús decirnos eso. "Si me amas, guardarías mis mandamientos". Creo que cualquiera que tenga una relación con Dios, ama a Dios y está haciendo todo lo posible por guardar sus mandamientos. ¿Podemos todos mejorar, creo que sí? Los mandamientos de amar a Dios y amar al prójimo, los mandamientos en los que se nos dijo en el Nuevo Testamento están muy relacionados con los 10 mandamientos en el Antigu Testamento. Los primeros tres mandamientos están enfocados en nuestro amor por Dios, y los siguientes 7 están enfocados el uno en el otro, nuestros vecinos. Cuando amamos a Dios, amamos a nuestro prójimo. Cuando amamos a nuestro prójimo, amamos a Dios. Somos seguidores de Jesús Somos los discípulos de Cristo. ¿Cómo podemos mejorar? Una forma de reflexionar sobre lo que debemos hacer es simplemente reflexionar sobre cómo vivimos los 10 mandamientos. Recuerde, los mandamientos del nuevo testamento están conectados a los mandamientos del Antiguo Testamento. Miremos y pensemos en estos mandamientos. ¿Recuerden que los primeros tres son sobre Dios? Los otros son sobre nuestra relación con nosotros mismos y con los demás. I. ¿Pongo a Dios primero en mi vida?

III. ¿Cómo santifico el día del Señor?

V. No matarás. ¿He matado a alguien? Quizás no físicamente. ¿He matado su espíritu al faltarles
el respeto o hablar mal de ellos?
VI. ¿No cometerás adulterio? ¿Soy fiel a mi cónyuge? ¿En mis pensamientos y en acciones? ¿Cómo me estoy respetando?
VII. ¿Han robado o engañado en una cosa u otra?
VIII. ¿Miento?
IX. "¿No codiciarás a la esposa de tu vecino? Si estoy casado, ¿estoy codiciando a alguien más? Si soy soltero, ¿estoy respetando la sexualidad de los demás?
X. ¿No codiciarás los bienes de tus vecinos? ¿Soy codicioso y orgulloso de no estar contento con lo que tengo?
El Evangelio de hoy dice: Si me amas, guardarás mis mandamientos. ¿Nosotros estamos?

Prayer n the Time of the Coronavirus Most Reverend José H. Gomez Archbishop of Los Angeles
Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen of the Angels and Mother of
the Americas. We fly to you today as your beloved children We ask you to
intercede for us with your Son, As you did t the wedding in Cana.
Pray for us, loving Mother,
And gain for our nation and world and for all our families and loved ones,
the protection of your holy angels, that we may be spared the worst
of this illness. For those already afflicted, We ask you to obtain the grace of
healing and deliverance.. Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful,
Wipe away their tears and help them to trust.
In this time of trial and testing
Teach all of us in the Church to love one another and to be patient and kind. Help us
bring the peace of Jesus to our land and to out hearts
We come to you with confidence,
Knowing that you truly are our compassionate mother, health of the sick
and cuase of our joy. Shelter us under the mantle of your

Lord Jesus, I adore you,
Son of Mary, my Saviour and my Brother, for You are God. I follow You in my
thoughts, O first-fruits of our race, as I hope one day by Your grace to follow
You in my person into heavenly glory. Until then, do not let me neglect the earthly task
which You have given me. Let me labour diligently all my life with a
greater appreciation for the present. Let me realize that only by accomplishing true
human fulfillment can I attain Divine fulfillment and ascend to
You at the completion of my work.
