“Our world has a grave social debt towards the poor.” (Pope Francis)

In May we will be collecting canned fruit and laundry detergent for the Wellesley Food

Pantry. Did you know that the Wellesley Food Pantry provides basic food and personal care

products to Wellesley residents, serving more than 450 people, with a third aged 60+ and another

third aged 18 and under. Also, about two-thirds of the clientele come from public housing. The

Wellesley Food Pantry is always very grateful for your donations and our monthly participation.

Your donations may be left in the bins at the front entrance of the church. "My faith demands that I do whatever I can, wherever I am, whenever I can, for as long as I can with whatever I have to try to

make a difference" (Jimmy Carter)

DIVORCED CATHOLIC SUPPORT

GROUP

Next Chapter, a Catholic Fellowship for the Divorced and Separated, is a support group for Catholics

who have already divorced or are in the process of separation and divorce. The group meets the

second Wednesday of every month, September through May, in the Community Room of Blessed

Sacrament Parish, Walpole, from 7 until 8:30 PM. Members are Catholics who have gone through the

process, and are available to lend a sympathetic ear and emotional and spiritual support. It also

sponsors occasional social activities to provide a safe social outlet. The group has held a formal 10

week program entitled “Separation, Divorce and Beyond” in the Fall of each year. If this fits your needs or if you would like to find out more about the group,

contact Jeanie Mattila at [email protected] or John Meuleman @ 781-982-6097 or

[email protected].

Men’s Fellowship Group

Two new men joined us at our last meeting of the St. Paul Men's Fellowship Group. Our next meeting is Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in the St. Paul Parish Hall at 7:30 PM. The Parish Hall is located behind the

church at 502 Washington Street in Wellesley.

In Fr. James Martin, S. J.'s book, Jesus-A Pilgrimage, we began Chapter 20, Gethsemane,

"He threw himself on the ground and prayed". Like Jesus at Gethsemane we discussed suffering as a time to prepare. Jesus called upon his Father (Abba) in

prayer. We were brought into the intimate relation of Jesus praying to the Father as a sign of His

obedience. On May 4th we will conclude Chapter 20 and go on to Chapter 21, Golgotha, "Then Jesus gave a

loud cry and breathed his last".

Margaret Silf, author of Inner Compass wrote, "It isn't often that a book invites you to make a journey through the

Holy Land in the company of an inspiring, well-informed, and entertaining guide like James Martin. Discover things you never knew about Jesus's homeland. Enter into the gospel narratives

firsthand. Enjoy the journey, but don't be surprised if it changes you."

Our next meeting is Wednesday, May 25th. Please

join us for this hour together.

Thank you to all who donated and volunteered at Rosie's Place on Sunday, April 24th. Through the generosity of St. Paul parishioners we were able to sponsor the meal and provide significant extra funds for much needed items. The guests at Rosie's Place were very

appreciative of the time and generosity of the volunteers and donors from the parish. We will be sponsoring and serving another meal in the fall.
