In the Gospel today, Jesus says, “Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing”. Indeed, by helping the poor we an “bear much fruit” and we find that with Jesus we can do everything. Your dona-tion to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul will show that you are indeed the disciple of Jesus as it will bring your love to those who live in fear and doubt, loneliness and dread. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul would like to thank the parishioners of St. John for the generous contribution of $5,520.65 for the month of March. Dur-ing the month we visited 38 households and assisted with electric and water bills along with food, personal care items and housing costs. The total expenditures for the assistance provided were $15,454.48. Thank you again and many blessings for all you do.

Baptism Classes. Spanish Pre-Baptismal classes for parents and godparents are on the 1st Saturday of each month at 10 am. The English Pre-Baptismal classes are on the 3rd Monday of each month at 5:30 pm. Those wishing to participate in the pre-baptismal classes must register 1 week in advance of the class. Group Bap-tisms will be celebrated on the 2nd & 4th Saturdays of each month at 10 am. All necessary paperwork must be turned in to the office 2 weeks before the date of the baptism. There will be a Fundraiser on May 2 from 12pm - 6 pm at 2207 Prairie Creek in Granite Shoals. There will be a variety of food and there will also be a raffle. All proceeds will go to the Family of Roberto & Marissa Velazquez. Roberto has several medical conditions and has undergone two unsuccessful surgeries and a third surgery has been denied due to not quali-fying financially. He and his wife are also caring for their two children who also need special medical care. Thank you for your support and your generosity. Recaudación de Fondos.
