The 2nd Collection will be going to our Helping Hands Fund. It supports the poor at the door in Grafton and the surrounding area. Congratulations to the newly Baptized Child into our Faith Community: Orion Carlos Gonzalez, son of Alexander & Stephanie Gonzalez Immerse yourself in the Word of God. Allow the Holy Spirit to draw you into the immensity of God’s love found in the Scriptures. He will reveal Himself to you while pondering His Word. The Lord wants to be discovered, He wants to be found and embraced by every human heart. God is the true lover of the soul. May we delight in Him and exclaim from the core of our being: “Set me as a seal upon your heart…!” (Song of Songs 8:6). It is true that the Heart of Jesus is physically present in the Holy Eucharist, but it is, also, true that the reverberations of His Heart have echoed across the millennia and found resonance in the minds of those inspired by God to write the Scriptures. The beating Heart of Jesus is found in every line of the Bible, for the Scriptures are written by God for love of you and I, and for every human being who will ever live until the end of time. Our Heavenly Father wants us to know through His written Word that we are loved and cherished by Him. Jesus Christ, Who is the Word of the Father, is first proclaimed in the Scriptures at every Mass, and then becomes flesh upon the altar. Christ literally gives Himself to us for our spiritual nourishment. He fills our souls with the very love of His Sacred Heart. He desires that we come to know Him as we are intimately known by Him. Reading and contemplating the Scriptures outside of Mass helps prepare our hearts for such a loving encounter with Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. Spend a little time each day reflecting on the Word of God, even if it’s just a single line of Scripture. Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and insight. He will respond to our prayer because He is love. May God be praised and may you be blessed! Book of the Month - The Devil in the City of Angels: My Encounters with the Diabolical by Jesse Romero. Jesse Romero encountered the demonic while working for the LASD. Discover the true stories of spiritual warfare being waged in the streets and alleys of L.A. “The Devil in the City of Angels” is much more than a catalog of strange and terrifying events. It exposes Satan as the Father of Lies so we can see how he works, and how to defeat him. Drawing on his own experiences, as well as the most authoritative sources, Romero offers the reader numerous cautionary tales but, also, that hope that is only found in Jesus Christ and his Church.
