How did they defend their faith? How did they propagate it? Come and join us for an evening of discovery and discussion. Pastoral Council – Thursday, April 28, 7 p.m. in the KC Room. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:34-35). People will look at you and say, “See how he loves; see how she loves others.” We have to make Jesus’ love visible, if people are going to notice, but that does NOT mean we should be seeking recognition, that is what Jesus condemns. We do not do things TO BE NOTICED. One way to keep God’s love visible is in our care for the others. This weekend we are having a spaghetti feed to continue the process for building a school in Haiti. A new wrinkle has been thrown into our sister parish situation however. Fr. Wilfranc from our Twin Parish in Haiti, St. Eves, has informed us that the government will no longer give money for the teachers and staff in his schools. He has schools at three locations, in the main parish, and two chapels. He has 14 teachers (5 at $65 per month and 9 at $55), a director at $98 per month, Secretary at $55, and 5 cooks or other helpers at $20 per month. We are seeking out people who would be willing to pay for one teacher or another worker at a level they can afford and make a commitment to give that to the Haiti fund every month. Jesus says, “This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Stewardship Moment – “I give you a new commandment:love one another. As I have loved you, so you also shouldlove one another.” (John 13;34) It is easy to lovesomeone when they love us back. It takes courage to “Love myneighbor” when he may be someone I don’t like, someoneI don’t know or someone who doesn’t look like me.
