For the Holy Family, traditions formed who they were. What forms our families? Pope Francis suggests that we each choose to live as a family of mercy. Our greatest ministries of mercy in our family flow through healing, forgiveness and reconciliation. These are our bridges to peace and joy. When we’re short on forgiveness, we remain wounded. When we’re short on reconciliation, we refuse grace. God’s mercy awaits us. It is ours to receive, share and witness. Moments of suffering and conflict are precisely the occasions for God to show mercy, through us. God’s abundance always leads us to the table of plenty. May each of us do one thing to turn our own family toward joy and peace.
!!!!
GRACE 2.0 Beginning January 10 for five weeks at the 11:00 am Sunday Mass, you will notice a few new things here at St. Joseph the Worker. We are attempting to answer Pope Francis’s invitation to surprise and to breathe new life into our parish. You'll hear a 5 week homily series called Grace 2.0; we’ll use enhanced audio and visual technology and have the chance to sing along with some contemporary praise and worship songs. Please consider attending. Again, that’s 11:00 a.m. Sunday masses right here at St. Joseph the Worker, January 10 through February 7.

Dear Parishioners:
This Blessed Christmas Season continues with today's Feast of the Holy Family - Jesus, Mary and Joseph. To give and receive love is the sacred vocation of family life. Every family is the privileged place where young and old grow in love together. Families are the Domestic Church where the Holy Faith is first learned and practiced. The reality of today's Gospel is that parenting is indeed difficult for every child is unique. . . especially teenagers!
The stages of parenting and spiritual development go hand in hand. Beginning on Jan. 10, The Baptism of the Lord Jesus, both St. Columbkille and St. Joseph the Worker will begin a special series of sermons for five weeks titled, Grace 2.0. Our personal journeys of Faith are all based upon God's Grace! So let us take a fresh, new look at the five stages of our faith life.
On behalf of Fr. Hilary and myself, Thank You for all of the goodies and gener-ous gifts that you share with us in this Christmas Season. May God Bless you abundantly for your support of His work here on earth!
May the Baby Jesus smile upon you and grant you His Eternal Blessings!
Fr. Gabriel

Sister Parish – Fr. Paul Dorlean, pastor of our sister parish St. Therese of the Child Jesus in Gonaives, Haiti, sends Christmas greetings and blessings to us all. He has made significant progress on his rectory, which he hopes to com-plete as soon as possible in 2016. He is out of funds however, so building has come to a standstill once again. In order to get him going, Deacon Jerry Temeyer, who accompanied Fr. Paul on his October visit to St. Joseph the Worker, has pledged to match up to $1,000 every month in the coming year so as to bring the building project to completion sooner rather than later. Please consider taking advantage of this generous offer and contributing to Fr. Paul’s efforts. When completed, we’ll be coordinating a trip to visit the parishioners of our sister parish. Envelopes marked “Fr. Paul Dorlean – St. Therese of the Child Jesus” are available at the Information Station, in the vestibules of church, and at the parish office. Thanks for your anticipated year-end and forth-coming generosity.
