The Penitential Rite I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, And, striking our breast, we say: through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. Kyrie. Eleison. Christe, eleison. Kyrie, eleison. The Liturgy of the Word A reading from the Prophet Isaiah 35: 1-6a Psalm 145

God is ever faithful, God is ever true. Yahweh feeds the hungry, sets the prisoners free. God brings light to darkness, raises up the low; God protects the stranger, gives the weak his care. Yahweh loves the just ones, thwarts the way of sin; God will reign for ever, rule from age to age.

A reading from the Letter of James 5: 7-10 Gospel Acclamation: Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. Prepare ye the way, prepare ye the way, prepare ye the way of the Lord. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew 11: 2-11 After the homily The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, At the words that follow, up to and including the Virgin Mary, all bow. who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen. The Intercessions

The Liturgy of the Eucharist During the Preparation of the Gifts: O come, O come, Emmanuel, and ransom captive Israel, that mourns in lonely exile here until the Son of God appear. Rejoice, rejoice, Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, thou Rod of Jesse, free thine own from Satan's tyranny; from depths of hell thy people save, and give them vic'try o'er the grave. Rejoice, rejoice, Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel. O come, thou dayspring, come and cheer our spirits by thine advent here; disperse the gloomy clouds of night, and death's dark shadows put to flight; Rejoice, rejoice, Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel. Sanctus: Pitcathley Memorial: When we eat this bread, and drink this cup,

we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again. We proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again. Doxology: from the Missal Agnus Dei: Kelvinhall Communion

Communion song

This is my will, my one command, that love should dwell among you all. This is my will that you should love as I have shown that I love you. No greater love a man can have than that he die to save his friends. You are my friends if you obey all I command that you should do. I call you now no longer slaves; no slave knows all his master does. I call you friends, for all I hear my Father say you hear from me.

Olive Tree Stall - 10/11th December - today

Olive Tree is a small Bridge of Weir based group selling Palestinian goods, purchased directly from producers in Israel/Palestine. We will be selling goods before and after Mass on 10/11 December. Products will include olive wood (nativities, angels, holding crosses etc.), silver and mother-of-pearl jewellery, ceramics and embroidery work, as well as felt goods from the L'arche community in Bethlehem. As well as supporting the producers by buying the goods, any profit goes back to Israel/Palestine towards grants for education and health care. Buy goods with a difference.

The St Nicholas Care Fund This Advent, we are asked to be generous to those in need on our own doorstep. The Archdiocese’s own charity, the St Nicholas Care Fund, provides small grants to groups in and around the Glasgow area which offer life-changing assistance to those most in need.
