Of these, 7 million do not know they have the disease. Since 1958, the number of people diagnosed with diabetes has risen from 1.5 million to 18.8 million in 2010, an increase of epidemic proportions. St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals wants to help you get the facts. Learn about diabetes, the signs, symptoms and treatment. Screenings for diabetes, high blood pressure, and cholesterol will also be offered. Each participant who gets screened will receive an individual consultation with a health care professional to discuss the screening results. Healthy light refreshments will be served. While you’re getting your prostate checked, we will also offer screeningsfor diabetes, high blood pressure and cholesterol. Referralsfor colonoscopies are given to those aged 50 and older.
