We are in need of someone to spend time before Christ, adoring Him and replenishing

your peace and strength, at Adoration on Monday nights from 7-8 p.m. in the Daily

Chapel. Anyone interested in taking on this rewarding gift to Christ and yourself can

contact Natalie Hoefer at 295-1697. And all are welcome at any time to spend time with

Christ in the Blessed Sacrament in the Daily Chapel from 6-9 p.m. M-Th (in the main

sanctuary on Tuesdays).

Congratulations to Our First Communicants! This weekend our parish is blessed with 220 candidates who will receive their First

Communion at the 11:00 AM Saturday Mass and all the parish Masses. A special thanks

to all their parents who role model Jesus' love for them. Blessings and thanks to their

Religious Education Events Vacation Bible School: "Bead by Bead-a journey through the life of Jesus" is the theme

of our Vacation Bible school which is June 9-13, 9:00-12:00, for 4 year old through 4th

grade. Registration for participants and helpers will be distributed May 2nd and 4th in the

school and Sunday School. Registrations are also available in the office. There is no cost

as it is paid for by the Men's Club, Knights of Columbus and parish. Please sign up to

participate or be a helper (5th grade and older). Deadline for registration is May

26th. Questions please call the religious education office 253-2192 ex. 4

Day of Children: On Sunday, May 18 all children to 4th grade, are invited to celebrate

the "Day of the Children" sponsored by the Spanish community. It will be in St.

Ambrose Hall (gym) from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Right to Life Rose Sale Look forward to the St Monica RIGHT to LIFE Ministry Annual

Rose Sale this Mother's Day! Beautiful Roses for you to gift that

special woman in your life will be available for sale after all the

Masses the weekend of May 10-11. Help support the work of our

ministry - the dedicated and ongoing mission to make aware the

sanctity of life - by buying a rose or two! Pray, too, that the ministry

work will continue to spread the awareness that all life is God given and a true blessing to

us all.

Our Sister Parish in

Lepaterique, Honduras Medicines will be collected after all the Masses the

weekends of May 10-11 and May 24-25.

Volunteer Awards Congratulations to Hannah Ardery and

Olivia Kirsch, who will be honored on

May 6, 7:00 PM at the CYO and Youth

Ministry Volunteer Awards at Ss. Peter

and Paul Cathedral. Bishop Coyne will

present the Spirit of Youth Award to

Hannah; Olivia and others are being

honored for adult and teen volunteers in

the Archdiocese. You are invited to this

ceremony and the reception at the

Catholic Center after the program. We

are proud of you, Hannah and Olivia!

Catholic Business Exchange Indiana Supreme Court Justice Loretta

Rush will speak at the May 16 Catholic

Business Exchange. Her topic will

be: Faith At Work.

Justice Rush was appointed to the

Indiana Supreme Court by Governor

Mitch Daniels in September 2012. As a

Supreme Court Justice, Rush serves as

Chair of the Commission on Improving

the Status of Children in Indiana and the

Indiana Conference for Legal Education

Opportunity. She was selected as one of

Indianapolis Business Journal's 2013

Women of Influence and in 2003 she

received the Kinsey Award for Juvenile

Judge of the Year.

The event is Friday morning, May 16, at

the North Side Knights of Columbus.

Mass starts at 6:30am and the program

will be finished by 8:30am. Cost for the

program includes a great breakfast and is

$15 in advance for members and $21 for

non-members. Registration is required. To

Monica Church has an Immigrant

Welcome Center Branch open every

Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Help is

provided in Spanish, French, Kiswahili

and English.

Helping The Lord’s Pantry The Lord's Pantry depends on the non-

perishable foods we bring in each week

and put in the blue food bin in the

Narthex. The Pantry services around 100

clients each week, every Tuesday morning

from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the

Witherspoon Presbyterian Church, 5136

Eventos de la Educación Religiosa La Escuelita de la Biblia en Vacaciones: "Cuenta por Cuenta-una jornada a través de la

vida de Jesús" es el tema para nuestra Escuelita de la Biblia en Vacaciones la cual se

llevará a cabo del 9-13 de junio, 9:00-12:00, para los niños de 4 años hasta el 4

grado. Registraciones para los participantes y ayudantes serán distribuidas para los

participantes y ayudantes el 2 y 4 de mayo en la escuela y la Doctrina. También

tendremos registraciones disponibles en la oficina. No hay ningún costo ya que todo es

pagado por el Club de los Hombres, Caballeros de Colón y la Parroquia. Por favor

Hispano Laico Se buscan candidatos que tengan el llamado al Liderazgo Pastoral Laico. Este es un

programa de la Arquidiócesis para prepararlos y es un gran compromiso para con la

María y después se hará un discernimiento para escoger a los 4 Candidatos de este año.

Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) The Parish Pastoral Council is a consultative body of

parishioners who assist the Pastor in guiding the parish on issues

requiring practical wisdom and investigation. The PPC has three

purposes: 1) to investigate pastoral matters; 2) to give these

matters in-depth consideration and prayer; and 3) to propose

practical conclusions and assist in cultivating our vision. Twelve

parishioners discerned their participation on PPC for a three-

year term through June 30, 2015 related to the parish theme of

“Immersed in Christ: One Body. One Mission.” The PPC meets

the second Wednesday of the month. All parishioners are

welcome to attend! The next meeting is May 14 from

6:45 PM to 9:15 PM in Holy Family Room. Agendas and
