Please join us as we remember the lives of children who have gone before us in death. If you have lost a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, prematurity, illness, accident or any other way, we welcome you, your family and friends who have supported you to gather with us to remember these special children with this Memorial Mass. Msgr. Steve will be the presider. This Mass is for anyone who has lost a child recently or in the past. Your family is welcome to join us for light refreshments after Mass.

Following Christ takes more than simply believing in him or doing what he asks of us. Jesus wants you to be more than a believer—He wants you to be his disciple and friend. “Follow Me: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John” is a guide to a personal encounter with Christ. Participants of “Follow Me” will receive a workbook and will meet every week to view an engaging video presentation followed by a time of lively group discussion and fellowship. The eight 30 minute videos, presented by Dr. Edward Sri, will guide you through the Gospel of John. Dr. Sri will explain how Christ’s encounters with his disciples, the Samaritan woman, the man born blind, and others, are examples of how he lovingly and persistently calls each of us to a life changing relationship with him. Msgr. Knox and Fr. Manno will elaborate on Dr. Sri’s teaching, and lead the discussion and question and answer time. The cost to participate in the study will be $20 to help pay for materials. The Guardian Angel Fund was established to provide temporary assistance to school families in need. Low-Gluten Hosts: Persons with Celiac disease are unable to consume communion hosts at Mass because of an intolerance to gluten. A host, recently developed, was given Vatican approval. Most people with celiac disease are able to
consume these hosts. When at Mass, we ask you to be in the line that the priest is serving. He will have a special pyx in his ciborium which will contain the special hosts. When you come up to the priest, simply say “special host,” and he’ll provide

SB 1564 is now before the governor.
Please call Governor Bruce Rauner to urge him to uphold religious freedom and conscience rights
for medical personnel in Illinois. Ask him to veto SB 1564 and the tyranny it represents.

open to the public the 2nd Sunday every month, 8/14, for enjoying the natural wooded setting and perennial gardens. Visitors are
welcome to do as they please. No activity is required or requested. People are welcome to read, nap, draw, meditate,
journal, swing or simply do nothing.

Fox Valley Robotics, a multi-community non-profit organization serving Fox Valley area Our programs are under the guidelines of an educational initiative called STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering and Math). Our programs are split into three divisions - FIRST Junior Lego League (JFLL) for
grades 1-3, FIRST Lego League (FLL) for grades 4-8, FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and IFI VEX Robotics
for grades 8-12. Our new season gets started in August with informational meetings for parents.

Tutor Volunteers Needed
The Dominican Literacy Center in Aurora will be training new tutor volunteers for its literacy program in August. Female volunteers (with high school diploma) are trained to help women students learn to read, write, and speak English. Tutoring sessions are 90 minutes, once a week, from Sept. to May, at 260 Vermont Street in Aurora (behind St. Therese Church). Tutors do not need to speak Spanish or have teaching experience, but all volunteers must attend ten hours of training.
