2016 St. Pio Giving Tree

The tradition of the giving tree con-tinues at St. Pio Parish, starting on

November 19th and continues through December 11th.

This year THE GIVING TREE will support St. Pio’s 2017 Vacation Bi-ble School Program, St Pio’s Baby Closet and the Free Midday Meal Program hosted at our Parish in

February.

The tags marked for VBS will be used to offset the cost of supplies

needed to put on this very important evangelization tool at our Parish.

We will be asking for gift cards from Lowes, Home Depot, Gordon’s,

Michaels and Joann’s. The 2016 Vacation Bible School’s “Cave

Quest” was great success and we

know that the 2017 VBS will be even greater with your support.

Gifts tags on trees will be available at both campuses until they are gone. A total of 500 tags were

made for this year and are coded: VBS – Vacation Bible School, BC – Baby Closet and FMMP – Free Mid-day Meal Program. The gifts are to be left unwrapped and returned with

the tag attached to your gift. The gifts may be returned to either cam-pus by placing them under the Giv-

ing Trees. Money and gift card donations, should be placed in an envelope marked Giving Tree and

placed in the collection basket.

We ask that you have an open heart when taking a tag from our trees.

Thinking About Joining the

Catholic Church?

Every year in the Archdiocese of Detroit,

hundreds of people join the Catholic Church. Since becoming Catholic requires a commitment to God, the Church and a worshipping commu-nity, the person must enter a pro-cess of preparation and discern-ment. This process is called the RCIA, an acronym for Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.

In the RCIA a person takes a journey with the RCIA Team to learn about and come closer to God. Part of learning about God means that you need to learn about God’s Church. In the RCIA we learn about how the Church was formed, and many of the particulars that are unique to Catholicism.

While learning about Catholicism is essential to the RCIA, it is only part of the process. The most im-portant part of the RCIA is discover-ing, developing, and nurturing your relationship with God. If you feel in your heart that God is calling you, the parish community of St. Pio of Pietrelcina welcomes you!

The RCIA process is open to people who are not baptized, baptized in another Christian faith, or baptized a Catholic but who have never received the Sacraments of Eucharist or Confirmation.

If you or anyone you know is interested in the RCIA process, and would like to know more please contact Ellen Olivier at 586-218-9211.

not enough. Have you ever thought to yourself, "How can I make my marriage better?" If

so, Retrouvaille can help.
