Find the Missal (Ordinary of the Mass) at 150 in Oramos Cantando/We Pray in Song

First Reading 1 Acts 5:12-16

Many signs and wonders were done among the people at the hands of the apostles. They were all together in Solomon’s portico. None of

the others dared to join them, but the people esteemed them. Yet more than ever, believers in the Lord, great numbers of men and

women, were added to them. Thus they even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on cots and mats so that when Peter came

by, at least his shadow might fall on one or another of them. A large number of people from the towns in the vicinity of Jerusalem also

gathered, bringing the sick and those disturbed by unclean spirits, and they were all cured.

Responsorial Psalm Ps 118 R. Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his love is everlasting.

Second Reading 2 Rev 1:9-11a, 12-13, 17-19

I, John, your brother, who share with you the distress, the kingdom, and the endurance we have in Jesus, found myself on the island

called Patmos because I proclaimed God’s word and gave testimony to Jesus. I was caught up in spirit on the Lord’s day and heard

behind me a voice as loud as a trumpet, which said, “Write on a scroll what you see.” Then I turned to see whose voice it was that spoke

to me, and when I turned, I saw seven gold lampstands and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, wearing an ankle-

length robe, with a gold sash around his chest. When I caught sight of him, I fell down at his feet as though dead. He touched me with

his right hand and said, “Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last, the one who lives. Once I was dead, but now I am alive forever and

ever. I hold the keys to death and the netherworld. Write down, therefore, what you have seen, and what is happening, and what will

happen afterwards.”

Gospel Jn 20:19-31

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and

stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples

rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” And when he

had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins

you retain are retained.” Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples said

to him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the

nailmarks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

Now a week later his disciples were again inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and stood in

their midst and said, “Peace be with you.” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put

it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe.” Thomas answered and said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him,

“Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”

Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples that are not written in this book. But these are written that you may

come to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that through this belief you may have life in his name.

El Misal (Ordinario de la Misa) esta en Oramos Cantando/We Pray in Song a Partir de 150

Primera lectura Hch 5, 12-16

Me

me dijo: “No temas.

mi costado y no sigas dudando, sino cree”. Tomás le respondió: “¡Señor mío y Dios mío!” Jesús añadió: “Tú crees porque me has visto;

Dear friends,

We have been restored to life in Christ and, as I write, been gifted by God with beautiful Spring days. It is a good

time to look ahead.

Soon we will celebrate our Spring festival as a parish community. Our festival committee has made plans for a

wonderful celebration and would appreciate your help in setting things up and most especially your support for

the Raffle and your participation on the day, April 24. I want to thank, once again, the Konieczny family for their

donation of the Chevrolet truck which is our Grand Prize. Your support of the Raffle is also a tribute to the

service which Frank and James Konieczny gave to the parish.

There are several projects underway and at various stages. They depend upon your help to see them through to

completion.

Bookstore: Everything is in place to reopen our bookstore in the rear of the church, but we need volunteers to

manage it and to staff it for 15-20 minutes after every Mass.

New Parish Offices: We are nearly ready to move our Reception and CCE offices to the south wing of the

building which houses the Rectory. We need to run new internet and phone cables and would greatly appreciate

help with that. We also need your help in building a reception counter if you have woodworking talents. We’ll

also need help in relocating.

Adoration Chapel: We have plans to relocate our chapel to the space where the old bookstore was located. The

Knights of Columbus are helping us to open up that space more fully and then we will need your talents with

things like insulation, drywall and painting, as well as your generosity in furnishing the chapel. We need a

qualified electrician to relocate a transformer.

Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe: We would like to build a new free-standing shrine to Our Lady Guadalupe

with a prayer plaza in front of the current shrine, closer to Main St. One of our parishioners has committed the

funds to necessary begin the project, but we need your help with the design and masonry, as well as new lighting.

Your help with materials will also contribute to the completion of a beautiful place of prayer.

Parish Plaza: We would like to construct a plaza in front of the new parish offices to give us a gathering place

after Mass and to serve as a memorial. We need help in designing, excavating, landscaping, and laying down the

paving stones. You might also consider donating a memorial stone or a centerpiece for the plaza.

The New Property: The new property at the corner of Shaver and Marvick will be fully paid for within a few

months and we should begin thinking about what use we want to make of the old Battery Express building. The

Knight of Columbus are here again serving the parish. With their help and guidance, we believe that we can

restore and preserve the steel structure of the building and replace the exterior sheet metal, thereby creating a new

gathering space for parish events.

Other projects: Once the CCE offices and the chapel have been relocated, we will need help in refurbishing and

reconfiguring those spaces as meeting rooms for groups, for adult faith formation and for bible study. The Santos

family has been at work improving the lot on Harris St for parking and we need to improve the parking lot on the

new property as well as beautifying and landscaping both properties.

On the other side of this page there is a form to indicate your interest in taking part in these projects. You may

return the form in any collection or to the parish office. Many of these projects can be family projects. They all

need your participation.

With faith in the Risen Lord,

Fr. Joe

2nd Sunday of Easter / Sunday of Divine Mercy

Queridos amigos,

Padre Joe
