THE GALA FOR MUSIC MINISTRY:

OCTOBER 29th

Please come join us on the evening of Friday, October 29th for a

Gala on behalf of our Music Ministry. All proceeds will go to-

ward the refurbishment of our pipe organ, which we hope to

install for Easter 2022.

There will be childcare available to you for this event. It would

be a fun date night for parents. The $75 fee includes dinner,

games, and entertainment. There will be silent auction items

available and a wine pull. I hope to see you there!!

WE HAVE A NEW DEACON CANDIDATE

IN FORMATION!

James Robb of our parish has been accepted into the newest

class of candidates for the Diaconate and has started the arduous

process. The formation is both academic and spiritual.

James has long been active in our parish as a religious education

teacher and often serves the Mass. Please keep him in your pray-

ers.

ALL SOULS’ DAY: TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd

We’ve lost an extraordinary number of parishioners this year.

We’ve had 18 funerals this year. In the previous three years

combined we’ve had but 14.

This year’s celebration of All Souls’ will be especially poignant.

We’ll have candles available if you want to commemorate a soul.

ALL SOULS’ DAY

From the Bereavement Committee: Our tradi-tion at St. Thomas More is to remember and pray for the Faithful Departed throughout the month of November, especially those who have

died since the previous All Souls’ Day.

We ask parishioners for photos and brief remembrances of the loved ones who have passed in the last year to place on our Remembrance Table, which will be located just outside Heiple Hall. Framed photos can be provided or digital photos can be emailed to . Please include the full name of the person, how they are related or connected, and a few sen-tences about them so we can prepare a card that will be dis-played with the photo.

The table will remain up and can be added to throughout the month of November. New or gently used frames, 8" X 10" or smaller, that we can use for the Remembrance Table are gladly accepted! A basket for your photos/donated frames will be in the parish office. Thank you for letting your parish family join you in remembering and praying for your loved ones.

Emergency Rent and Utility Assistance!

Individuals and families who rent their homes and whose household incomes have been im-pacted by COVID are urged to apply for Emer-

gency Rental Assistance (ERA) funds. St. Vincent de Paul is partnering with Community Cares Partners, the group admin-istering ERA funds for the State of Oklahoma, Cleveland County, Oklahoma County, and the City of Oklahoma City, to help people apply.

An Application Station hosted by SVdP and CCP to help people navigate the application process will be held at Nor-man Central Library, 103 W. Acres, from 1:00pm - 4:00pm on Saturday, October 23rd. Information about other rent and utility assistance programs will also be available.

Visit okcommunitycares.org for eligibility information and documentation required. Open to the public, no registration required. If you live in Oklahoma and your income has been affected by COVID, help is available. Call Lisa Schmidt, (405) 312-9468, or email [email protected] with questions about the event or for more information.
