SCRIPTURE CORNER GOD’S HEALING JUSTICE An old expression holds that the sun-warmed stone heals. Perhaps. But Malachi explains that only dark, sunless days are in store for those who do not find a place for God in their lives. Conversely, he tells us that the warmth and light of God’s healing justice await those who fear the Lord. That’s a pretty comforting no-tion—especially now in the already short and growing even shorter days of November. It’s the sun-warmed stone, and then some. Paul speaks to us of justice as well, but points out that it is not a passive thing. To be treated justly, we need to do our fair share. If we are diligent and persevere we will be rewarded with and by the fruits of our labor. Lastly, Luke, too, tells us to persevere—in faith, this time—and our lives will be secure in God regard-less of how we are treated by our enemies. —--Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

5:30 p.m. Life Teen Mass. Edge Nights (6th- 8th grade) will gather upstairs in the Youth Room and Life Nights (9th – 12th grade) will gather in the Community Center. The sessions will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8:00 p.m.
Attendance will be taken each Sunday evening! 13th – Edge – “Go Preach It” – The goal of this night is to help the youth understand what it means when we pro-fess the Church as Apostolic. LifeTeen – “Four Marks of the Church: APOS-TOLIC” – The goal of this night is to help the teens under-stand the authority handed down from Jesus to Peter and his successors. Teens will also learn about the great com-missioning in Matthew 28:19-20 and how it is maintained through the hierarchal structure of the Church. 20th – NO EDGE OR LIFE TEEN DUE TO THANKSGIVING BREAK 27th – Edge – “Ready or Not- Here HE Comes” – The middle school youth will come to a greater understanding of the Season of Advent and what Catholics do in prepara-tion for Christmas and the Second Coming of Christ. LifeTeen – “Wait for It” – The goal of this night is to help teens understand the purpose of Advent and what Christ is calling them to as they prepare for Christmas. This night will give them practical, concrete ways to pray the four weeks of Advent. —Ashlie Moran, [email protected], 863-1610
