SCRIPTURE CORNER GOD’S HEALING JUSTICE An old expression holds that the sun-warmed stone heals. Perhaps. But Malachi explains that only dark, sunless days are in store for those who do not find a place for God in their lives. Conversely, he tells us that the warmth and light of God’s healing justice await those who fear the Lord. That’s a pretty comforting no-tion—especially now in the already short and growing even shorter days of November. It’s the sun-warmed stone, and then some. Paul speaks to us of justice as well, but points out that it is not a passive thing. To be treated justly, we need to do our fair share. If we are diligent and persevere we will be rewarded with and by the fruits of our labor. Lastly, Luke, too, tells us to persevere—in faith, this time—and our lives will be secure in God regard-less of how we are treated by our enemies. —--Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

5:30 p.m. Life Teen Mass. Edge Nights (6th- 8th grade) will gather upstairs in the Youth Room and Life Nights (9th – 12th grade) will gather in the Community Center. The sessions will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8:00 p.m.

Attendance will be taken each Sunday evening! 13th – Edge – “Go Preach It” – The goal of this night is to help the youth understand what it means when we pro-fess the Church as Apostolic. LifeTeen – “Four Marks of the Church: APOS-TOLIC” – The goal of this night is to help the teens under-stand the authority handed down from Jesus to Peter and his successors. Teens will also learn about the great com-missioning in Matthew 28:19-20 and how it is maintained through the hierarchal structure of the Church. 20th – NO EDGE OR LIFE TEEN DUE TO THANKSGIVING BREAK 27th – Edge – “Ready or Not- Here HE Comes” – The middle school youth will come to a greater understanding of the Season of Advent and what Catholics do in prepara-tion for Christmas and the Second Coming of Christ. LifeTeen – “Wait for It” – The goal of this night is to help teens understand the purpose of Advent and what Christ is calling them to as they prepare for Christmas. This night will give them practical, concrete ways to pray the four weeks of Advent. —Ashlie Moran, [email protected], 863-1610

on Sunday, December 4 in the school of religious education building immediately following SRE at 11:30am. This powerful

new feature film tells the dramatic and tragic story of the be-loved saint of modern youth who died defending her purity at the hands of a knife-wielding attacker, Alessandro Serenelli.

Actress Martina Pinto gives an inspirational and luminous per-formance as St. Maria Goretti, revealing the deep spiritual life, great courage and profound charity, that the young saint had.

Running time is 1 hour, 45 minutes. We will have popcorn and drinks!!! Bring your family and friends…

*Mark your calendars! We are hosting an Advent Family Life Night on Sunday, December 4th. We want the families of Life Teen and Edge teens to join us as we prepare for the season of Advent with our night titled, “Hopeful Anticipation”. Fami-lies are encouraged to attend and the goal of this night is to ex-amine how the hopeful anticipation of Advent compares to their own feelings regarding their hopes and dreams for the future. Families will end the night together in Eucharistic adoration.

We will continue rehearsing for our CHRISTMAS PAGEANT in the church. See rehearsal schedule below. Please encourage your children to participate in the Christmas Pageant to help all of us prepare for the celebration of Christmas.
