Stealth technology can be describe as a technologythat be used to make a thing being less visible to

radar, infrared and other detection method. Basically used for aircraft, ships, submarines and

missiles for military. Stealth technology usually used in radar

communication and applied in military tactics. Widely used in a war after this technology applied for

Lockheed Martin F-117 stealth fighter (The firstlarge scale (and public) use of the F-117)

How does stealth technology works in radar communication??

Stealth technology designed to make an airplaneinvisible to radar

However, it still can be detected at short ranges

around the radar. So, the stealth aircraft must be in substantial gaps in

radar coverage so that it still cant be detected byradar.

The stealth aircraft basically be shaped so thatit can reflected any radar signal it reflectsaway from the radar signal

This stealth technology is very useful for military field to improve their military

    technique.

RECENT MAJOR DEVELOPMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THETECHNOLOGY

Stealth refers to the act of trying to hide or evade detection Example for airplanes, stealth first meant hiding from radar Submarines hid under the waves to sneak up on ships, nowadays

submarines used special coatings on their periscopes to

avoid radar detection. Cockpits, was carefully designed and coated with special materials so that itcan

bounce radar straight back to the source. Engine inlets are often designed so that the radar energy cannot go straight into

them and reach the face of the turbine blades. Instead, the radar energy isbounced back and forth inside the inlet.

Tail surfaces are sharply angled, rather than vertical, so that they canbounce radar in a different direction.

    Demand factors

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics and advanceddevelopment programmes are continuouslyworking to mature technologies andcapabilities to improve all aspects of stealth.

All stealth technologies and research in thisarea are sensitive and are co-ordinated withappropriate.

The first objective of stealth technology hasbeen focused on defeating detection by

airborne and surface radars. So the state of the art in stealth technologyevolved quickly from the faceted shape of theLockheed Martin F-117 to the blended curvesof the Northrop Grumman B-2 bomber to theLockheed F-22's unique combination of highspeed, agility and very low observability to

    Competing technologies

Some signs suggest the primacy of radar-only stealth is starting tofade, albeit slowly andincrementally.

Serdar Cadirci, a Turkish air forceofficer, published his master's

thesis last March for the US navalpostgraduate school, focusing onthe current state of stealth and

    counter-stealth technologies.

    General constraints

Just as wing-mounted lamps were used inthe Second World War to obscureGrumman TBM-3D Avenger dive-bombersfrom ground observation.

The next generation of US combat aircraftare likely to feature techniques to makethem invisible to a naked human eye - orelectro-optical sensor.

In a modern update of Project Yehudi, KevinDowling, an engineer for PhilipsElectronics North America, has patented aconcept to embed sensors and light

emitting diode-based lighting into the skinof a stealth aircraft.

    MILITARY FIELD

German designers produced a largelytransparent monoplane; its wingsand fuselage were covered by atransparent material derived fromcellulose

With the invention of radar during

World War II, stealth became bothmore needful and more feasible beadapted to guiding antiaircraft

    missiles and gunnery at them.

The wing will build on a metallicsubstrate (pyramid shape with spacesbetween pyramid)

as the radar striking the zigzag(between the pyramid walls) theabsorption will be increase bylengthening signal path through

absorbent material Radar also can be reflected when three

planar surface meet at a corner. Ittend to be highly angled andstreamlined, resulting no flat surface
