WELCOME TO SUMMER!I can’t believe that summer is already upon us. It seems like just yesterday that there was snow on the ground and the shovelswere barely in the soil at the Thompson Park pool project. Thededicated staff at Northern Wasco County Parks & Recreation arebusily preparing for our much anticipated summer season and theopening of the new Northern Wasco County Aquatic Center! Ihope you and your family are able to join us at our soon to be an-nounced Grand Opening Ceremony and participate in all that ournew aquatic center has to offer. Amenities include an 8 lane 50meter pool, 140 foot water slide, aqua-climbing wall, divingboard, splash pad, concessions stand and more. I would like tosincerely thank Parks District voters for approving the bond thatmade this beautiful new facility a reality.

Although we are extremely excited for the aquatic center to open, there is much more that summer has to offer. New full-week

camps are being offered to keep your children active and engaged, popular specialty camps areback again and you’ll find new classes and activities throughout the program guide. Stop by SorosisPark for a round of disc golf on our updated Tree Top Disc Golf Course with new tee pads, new sig-nage, and adjusted layout. Or take a leisurely stroll along our wonderful Riverfront Trail. On behalf of the Parks Board of Directors and everyone at NWCPRD, have a great summer enjoyingyour parks and recreation system!
