year of Sacramental Preparation. Please contact the Pastoral
Assistant for more information.

Arrangements need to be made with the Pastor at least six
to nine months in advance.

SAINT JUDE YOUTH MINISTRY: Youth activities will
resume regular weekly meeting times:

United Supermarket in
Burkburnett will host a
carwash and hot dog feed on
Saturday, September 16, from
10am to 2pm, benefiting Grace
Ministries. Please come out
and give your support.
Donations of car washing supplies and towels would
be greatly appreciated. If anyone needs volunteer
hours, this will be a good opportunity to serve.
The Food Pantry at Grace Ministries needs crackers,
chili, Vienna sausages, and tea bags. If you can help
with these items, you may drop off your donation at
their location (215 East 3rd Street) or here at the
church and we will deliver it for you.
ATTENTION HOSPITAL PATIENTS: If you or loved
ones are in the hospital and want to be visited by a
priest, you must inform admission personnel that you
are Catholic and would like to be visited. You may
also call Pastoral Care at the hospital or the office of
your home parish to request a visit. The hospitals will
no longer release the names of Catholics to priests or
lay ministers bringing communion to the sick. If you,
or someone you know, is in the hospital or are
homebound and would like a visit, please call the
parish office at 569.1222.
CURIOUS ABOUT BECOMING CATHOLIC? If you, or
someone you know, are curious about becoming
Catholic, you are invited to come explore your
questions. We will be forming an inquiry group in
September to discuss and answer any questions you
might have about what Catholics are all about. It is a
very informal group and there is no obligation. If you
would like to join us or receive more information,

SAINT JUDE ALTAR SOCIETY: Our Lady of Good
Counsel Altar Society begins a new year of service to
our parish with a general membership meeting on
Monday, September 11th at 6:30pm in the center room
of the Education Building. Dinner will be provided
and all ladies of the parish are welcome.
ALTAR FLOWERS: Sponsoring fresh
flowers for the altar is a great way to
remember a loved one who has passed or
mark any special occasion. For more

PARISH CLEANING DAYS: Mark your calendar for
the upcoming fall cleaning days at Christ the King and
Saint Paul. Please come out and help us get ready for
fall.

ADULT FAITH FORMATION: Faith Sharing will begin

ALLRED UNIT RETREAT: A retreat is scheduled for
the inmates of the Allred Unit on Friday, November
17th. Over 90 men are expected to participate. Fr.
Khoi would like to provide a hot meal for the
participants as they do not often get to enjoy a quality
meal. If you would like to contribute, please make
checks payable to Christ the King with memo line
notation Allred Retreat.
SECOND COLLECTION TODAY: Bishop Olson has
asked all parishes in the Diocese of Fort Worth to take
up a second collection to assist with relief efforts for
our brothers and sisters affected by Hurricane Harvey.
