WELCOME AND CALL TO WORSHIP

INTROIT Here in This Place . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Marty Haugen, arr. DakeHere in this place new light is streaming, now are the shadows vanished away; see in this space our fears and our dreaming brought here to You in the light of this day. Gather us in, the lost and forsaken, gather us in, the blind and the lame, call to us now and we shall awaken, we shall arise at the sound of our name. Not in the dark of buildings confining, not in some heaven lightyears away, here in this place the new light is shining; now is the kingdom and now is the day. Gather us in, and hold us forever, gather us in, and make us Your own. Gather us in, all peoples together, Yours is the kingdom, our lives are Your throne. – Marty Haugen

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND CALL FOR OFFERING

ANTHEM Dear Lord, Embracing Humankind . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .C. Hubert H. ParryDear Lord, embracing humankind, forgive our foolish ways; reclothe us in our rightful mind; in purer lives Thy service find, in deeper reverence, praise. In simple trust like theirs who heard, beside the Syrian sea, the gracious calling of the Lord, let us, like them, without a word, rise up and follow Thee. Drop Thy still dews of quietness, till all our strivings cease: take from our souls the strain and stress, and let our ordered lives confess the beauty of Thy peace. Breath through the heats of our desire Thy coolness and Thy balm; Let sense be dumb, let flesh retire, speak through the earthquake, wind and fire, O still small voice of calm! – John Greenleaf Whittier
