Tracye Vaughan - christmas in action is a non-profit agency, in partnership with the community, that repairs the homes of low-income elderly and/or disabled homeowners

by putting Christian values and principles in action.Pray that God will raise up community volunteers who desire to demonstrate Christ’s love and grace to their neighbors through our Christmas in Action projects.Pray that those who receive our services will see the love of Christ “in action” and be personally drawn to Him.As CIA seeks to glorify God in our community, pray for discernment to identify deserving recipients along with the energy, health and resources needed to complete the projects He gives us.

pRAY FOR FBC DiRECt SUppORt MiSSiONARiES: Christmas in Action in Midland, texas

is the Holiday season. Whereas the holidays once brought joy when our loved one was here, there can be a sense of dread. We want to help. Sunday, Nov 17th at 4 PM, we invite you to join us for “Hope for the Holidays” in our chapel. This will be a service aimed at helping you cope better with the holidays in light of your loss. If you’re one who wants to come even if you did NOT lose a loved one, you’re still welcome. Meet us at 4 PM, Nov 17th in the chapel. Your pastor,Darin

FBC Church Council minutes, reports, and other information are available on the website at www.fbc-midland.org/church-council or under the Resources tab on the home page.

FBC’s Starting point training course is now available on the FBC website at www.fbc-midland.org/starting-point

From the pastor

Dear First Family,Grace and Peace! God bless each of you and your homes today! What I’ve prayed for each of you today is for God’s provision and power in your life! The resurrection of Jesus should not be something that we remember only at Easter time – it needs to be the power source for our daily lives. The power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in US! Praise the Lord! Live in the joy that such a reality provides!FIRST FAMILY EN ESPANOLBeginning this Sunday, we’re adding a service! At 11:05 in our Youth Worship center (north end of 2nd floor E Hallway, near where it meets D Hall), our dear friend and deacon Adolfo Chavez will begin a new service for us in Spanish! Their Sunday School will be in D Hallway partnering with our existing Spanish language Sunday School. From teenagers down, their children will be folded into our existing classes. I want to make clear that this will be a stand-alone service, not a translation of one of our other services. Our vision is to reach the numerous Hispanics across the Midland area. Our plan is for this to remain a service of our church, not spin it out to be a stand-alone church – at least not for the foreseeable future. Our hope and prayer is that the room where we’re putting them won’t be big enough for long. FIRST FAMILY THANKSGIVING DINNEROn Sunday, Nov 24th, we’ll have our annual Thanksgiving Dinner. A traditional thanksgiving meal, this is a wonderful opportunity to share life together as a family. We’ve changed how we’re doing tickets this year in an effort to help our planners know better how many to anticipate. Advance tickets (until Wednesday, Nov 20) are $5 each. If you wait until the day of the event, you can still come, but the price will be $10 at the door. Understand that we’re not trying to make $5 extra as much as we’re trying to be good stewards of God’s blessings. You can get tickets each of the next two Sundays at our Welcome Desk in the Welcome Center or by calling the church office. HOPE FOR THE HOLIDAYSOne of the true challenges when we lose a loved one

Letters that LiftDear FBC Family,"Thank you" seems so inadequate for

the love shown to our family during the final days & passing of our father, Herb Hall. The numerous cards, calls, & visits seem to come at the perfect time that they were needed. The meal provided by Fuffy Green, Barbara & Jack Wyrick, & the committee was perfect, & so appreciated on a day when we needed to feel the love from our brothers & sisters in Christ. We are truly grateful for your ministry during this difficult time.Randy Hall, Dale Hall, Stacy Hilliard & Brenda ParkerFirst Family,Thanks for the contribution to Buckner Children's Services, prayers, visits, & the good meal that was served to our family. The ladies were so kind & helpful to us.The family of Jimmy Leach
