Welcome to the mesics GmbH! Since 1997, sports medical performance diagnostics has been the focus of my daily correspondence with diagnosticians from all over Europe. Since then, a passion for performance diagnostics has grown out of the pure customer consulting for the software winlactat. New and old partnerships with equipment manufacturers such as COSMED, h/p/cosmos, EKF, ERGOLINE, POLAR, among others, as well as many years of consulting services in close cooperation with the Olympic Training Centres in Germany, have finally resulted in a functioning overall concept. More and more customers want comprehensive overall advice – up to large treadmills. Together with my suppliers and partners, I try to meet the special wishes of the customers with maximum commitment. Software

Since 1997, mesics has been developing software for performance diagnostics. Software is playing an ever-increasing role in practice; more and more procedures have to be carried out in ever-shorter time periods without errors, valid and always reproducible. Data must be stored in an audit-proof manner. The technical challenges for personnel are thus becoming ever greater. The interest in good medical software is therefore becoming more and more important. For this reason, we dedicate a separate chapter to these products.

Software for lactate performance diagnostics The selection of good software products in lactate diagnostics is currently relatively clear. Nevertheless, the few products differ relatively strongly from one another. The characteristics are hardly to be evaluated by the potential prospective customer himself in terms of professionalism. Therefore we give some hints in the following what you should pay attention to when buying a software. The aim of lactate diagnostics is, among other things, the determination of the metabolic thresholds LT1 and LT2 as well as optionally and at best a derivation of training intensities. Since lactate diagnostics is always carried out in the short step test and only rarely in the long-term test (MaxLaSS test), there is no possibility here to determine the leaving of the lactate steady-state over time and thus LT2 exactly and directly. Instead, depending on the stress profile, one of the available threshold value models is used to estimate LT2. This procedure has been established for 40 years now. An overview of the common threshold value models and their applicability is difficult to obtain, so professional software is recommended. Regardless of this, the software should enable the customer to check, evaluate and, if necessary, correct the calculated, mathematical results himself, because own experience and the complex factors of a good (training) anamnesis cannot be replaced by a machine. Therefore, the possibility of correcting the calculated thresholds seems to us to be one of the essential prerequisites for the subjective and thus experiential evaluation of a diagnostic. De facto, thresholds should therefore be variable and manually adjustable. The same applies to the definition of training zones. Almost every sport uses different terms and requires different threshold references of the zones. For this reason, software - if it has modules for recommending training intensities - should also allow extensive options for defining zones. A good SQL database should be integrated - as is the case in all practice programs today. The software products for lactate diagnostics presented in the following have all been developed by mesics since 1994. Many of the ideas have been gained over the years through contact with customers in the numerous seminars or in daily discussions. For more than 20 years now, the support team has been available for its customers every day.

Hybrid software for lactate and spiroergometry Most CPET programs now have a small data module themselves to document the recorded lactate values under stress. However, very few products have a scientific evaluation method for the obtained lactate values (threshold diagnostics). No software product of a spiroergometry manufacturer known to us currently offers comprehensive lactate diagnostics with a selection of threshold value models and representation of all 4 thresholds (LT1, LT2, VT1, VT2). However, the software winlactat - originally a pure lactate diagnostics software - was extended in 2013 by numerous import interfaces to the common software products of the spiroergometry manufacturers. It is thus not only able to list all ventilatory and metabolic thresholds but also to display the ventilatory parameters in extremely flexible Wasserman panels. Thus, the software winlactat can be regarded as a complete replacement for the evaluation of the data recorded by spiroergometry and also offers comprehensive training planning.

Lactate and spiroergometry software winlactat 6 Professional hybrid solution for lactate diagnostics and spiroergometry The software winlactat is a hybrid evaluation software of lactate performance tests and spiroergometries. It offers not only the calculation of all common thresholds but also training planning as a fixed component. The input of the threshold test data is done either manually, from the device (EKF, Diaglobal) or by importing data from many hardware manufacturers such as CARE FUSION / JÄGER, CORTEX, COSMED, SCHILLER/GANSHORN, GERATHERM, INNOVISION , ZAN. A connection to your patient management system is possible via GDT. The ventilatory data are displayed as usual breath-based in customizable field graphics, can be filtered and post-processed channel by channel (median/averaging filter, single value correction, non-linear interpolation in case of measurement gaps, etc.). The evaluation of step tests with winlactat is extremely flexible. 12 parameterizable lactate thresholds and optionally ventilatory thresholds in any number can be combined to profiles. Lactate performance curves are displayed polynomially or exponentially fitted. Thresholds can be set as a reference point for calculating the recommended training intensity. Training intensities can be calculated at the lactate and ventilatory thresholds (power, pulse, lactate, VO2, RER...), at any fixed thresholds (e.g. 2, 4 mmol/l, RER 1, PWC 130 etc.) or at maximum values (power, VO2max, LaMax etc.). The resulting individual training plans are cycle-based and can be extended as required. The high degree of flexibility is the reason why the software is used by experienced diagnosticians from Olympic centres and clinics and is also used for teaching at numerous universities (references). The software is installed locally or in a network. The licensing procedure provides either a consumption-based billing for a low-cost entry (FLEX) or an unlimited complete solution (ENTIRE). The basic version of the FLEX solution already contains memory for 50 diagnostics (mes050-flex) and can be expanded at any time (mes051-mes054). The memory capacity of the ENTIRE solution (mes050-ent) is not limited. A change from FLEX to ENTIRE is possible at any time. Each client PC also requires its own starter license (mes021). Data can be exchanged bidirectionally in HL7 or Excel® format. All interfaces are included in the price.

Lactate software Lactate EXPRESS 4 Easy to use solution for lactate diagnostics in step tests The software Lactate EXPRESS is designed for beginners in lactate performance diagnostics. The software stands out by its simplicity of use with a high degree of intuition. The input of the step test data is done either manually or by import from the Lactate Scout. The evaluation of the step tests is very easy to learn with the Lactate EXPRESS. The 3 most common threshold value models are provided in the evaluation (MADER, DICKHUTH, BUNC).
