Tank De-gassing Technology for MaritimeChoose Ecochlor. Choose Peace of Mind.
Why filterless?
• Some shipowners require a BWMS with reliable, high volume pumping rates
• Issues with filters in heavy challenge waters can be severe
• Additional costs for the BWMS and installation
2
The desire from shipowners for a reliable, filterless system is well-documented
but has been delayed to market due to legitimate concerns regarding the efficacy
of existing treatment technologies when used without a filter. That wait is over . . .

ClO2 Treatment Technology: The Filterless Solution
• ClO2 is not affected by suspended sediments or turbidity!
• This means that ClO2 disinfection is effective regardless of changes in turbidity
• Filtration is not necessary to remove sediments prior to treatment with ClO2, in contrast with UV or similar technologies

• Scorpio signed a Fleet agreement with Ecochlor. At present, 56 Scorpio tankers have the Ecochlor BWMS installed.
• Due to increased material costs, the filter and treatment deckhouses costs were significant.
• A new design was developed of a ”filter enclosure”.
• Benefits - reduced:• Material costs• Construction costs• Piping• Ancillary equipment (i.e., fans, doors, etc.)• Footprint• Weight
