How can you give back?
Join the Team - Go to the team psych web page and click on the link under the “give
Back” section. This will take you directly to our page for Cycle for life. You can join
the team and ride 25, 56 or 85 miles for a great cause.
or, just email Sharon at [email protected], include the distance you would like
to ride.
We just ask that you bring your cell phone with you for the ride and help out any cy-
clists in need.
Raise the Flag - Our goal is to raise $1000 for this event. Even if you cant ride with
the team you can donate any amount you would like. We have made this very easy. In
the give back section there are links to donate $5, $10 or $20 dollars through google
checkout.
SO, let’s make El Fuego proud!! Donate your time (and clock in some nice milage), do-
nate your money or both. THis is a really great cause that benefits children and families
in our area who are living with Cystic FIbrosis.

The second annual Longboat Key
lived up to the big standards set by
the first event. The gold standard is a
safe and fun event.
The swim changed from open gulf
swim to a lagoon swim, minimizing
current and waves. A plus for first
timers.
The run became a terrain of all ex-
periences. Out from transition onto
the luxury condo roads, on to a short
wood bridge over beach grass, then
on to the beach. It must have been
just under a mile and a half of shore
running. I am still a physical wreck
and am listing to my left. The run
continued for a couple hundred of
yards on to the golf course. Abso-
lutely beautiful if you are a golfer,
still beautiful if you are running the
cart course. I’m lying here. Hon-
estly I saw those ten foot rises like
Kim, Lisa and Tom at post race mode.

they were mountains. I had better go
back and run in San Antonio. The fin-
ish was truly beautiful to all, not be-
cause it was the end, but because it
finished on the soft grass of the driv-
ing range.
Kudos to Tony Driscoll , Kim
Vaughn and Theirry for putting on a
great event.
More beautiful is the pre race dinner
and post race food festival. I must
have eaten my entry money’s worth at
dinner alone. I’m not kidding. Notice
you see more food than racing pic-
tures.
The only sad note is the T Shirt rat-
ing. I am giving them a one skull rat-
ing. No logo on the front and the most
prominent language was the name of
the sponsor. Some electronic device
that relieves menstrual cramps. I swear
on my bike that is the truth. Science is
making it a better world for
women….. I wonder if strap it around
my back it will soothe my sore mus-
cles from that beach run.

A message from the co founders
I just want to give the season a review of our Give Back efforts by Team
Psych. It starts with a phrase “business as usual”. What is business as usual
for the team is that every new member that joins begins the Give Back emp-
nassis of the team. Every time a member re-news their membership they re-
peat the Give Back. Five dollars of every new and re-newal membership
has gone to our charity endeavors.
Soldier Ride: Our membership began the season by volunteering for the
innagural Soldier Ride of Tampa Bay. The ride through Tampa was made
safer with the Ride Marshall efforts by Team Members. Nearly two hun-
dred riders inclucing veterans from Iraq and Afganistan rode with Team
Psych watching their backs.
Tornado Relief: When tragedy and folks from ___ were devastated by tor-
nados, Team Psych teamed up with surrounding teams from the __ area.
We sent funds and goods which were deliverd to families in the wind rav-
aged area.
Youth Triathlon Series: We covered the Fish Hawk, Bob Sierra, and Palm
Harbor events. One hundred-fifty to two hundred kids at each event were
covered on the bike course by our volunteers. Crying children, broken
chains, spills on the course are our specialty. We gave away three hundred
water bottles at these events.
Triathlon Camps Sponsorships were awarded to children whose family
means would not have provided them a place at the several week long ath-
letic programs. The entry fee to the YTS event at Bob Sierra YMCA was
covered by Team Psych. The kids in the camp were given team psych t-
shirts, water bottles, tattoos, and bike decals. Special thanks to Steve &
Laura Toll and ISM, Chris Bulnes / Bulnes & Buckheimer, and to Kieth &
Mary Colini.
Cystic Fibrosis Ride: To date four hundred etghty-five dollars raised for
the Ride for Life.
Race for the Booty Triathlon: What can be said? Our first triathlon event
was attended by athletes and served as a great platform for our charities.
We raised —-dollars and shared the proceeds with Cystic Fibrosis, Succes 4
Kids & Families, and the James A. Haley Veteran’s Hospital Breast Clinic.
