Miss Abbie talks tween!
Not only did Miss Abbie from YCPL talk about book services, but she told the students about cool events like the Zombie Prom, sleep overs at the library, the advisory council, and much more! Yes, even homework help!
York County Library Swag
These guys were proud to show off the string bags Miss Abbie treated them to!
All aboard!
Our students were excited to get a chance to visit the YCPL bookmobile during Teen Read Week.
YCPL bookmobile staff was all smiles! How could you NOT get excited about reading when greeted by these lovely smiles! Not only were the bookmobile staff welcoming, but they knew lots of trivia about the bookmobile and much more. Our students loved meeting them!
Books make us happy!
These sixth graders were thrilled to check out all the titles on the bookmobile. They were curious about how the books stayed on the shelf when the bookmobile was on the move. The secret? Titled shelves!
Spelunking anyone?
No, these ladies aren’t pretending to explore a cave. Right in the middle of our visit from YCPL, we had to pause for an earthquake drill! Falcons are prepared for anything!
Reading is rewarding!
Reading pays in more ways than one at Sullivan. During Teen Read Week, our top 25 library patrons were treated to a morning snack of muffins, grapes, and water along with a free book of their choice. Read on!
Making a tough decision…
These top readers had a hard time deciding which book they would choose to take home and add to their personal libraries.
A few minutes to relax and chat…
While our top readers enjoyed their snacks, they had time to talk about being new to Sullivan, and books of course.
Best day ever!
One of our top 25 said this was his best school day ever. That made Mrs. McManus smile! The library plans to celebrate our top patrons each 9 weeks.
