The fleet of the yearly long voyage training of R.O.C. Navy will berth at

Anping Harbor on 2/27 and 2/28. The AOE530 Replenishment Oiler

and FF-1208 La Fayette class Frigate will be open to public.

improve their combat skills so they will be qualified to visit diplomatic

Wusanto Reservoir used to be known

for its Gliricidia (南洋櫻), but since last

year, the Irrigation Association of the

Chayi and Tainan county planted 1,500

Kawashi cherry trees, and they have

now come to blossom. Resembling the

Japanese “Cherry Flower Frontline”

((桜前線), the Association makes

forecasts for the public on the duration

of full blossom. This year, from 28th of

February onwards, until the end of

March it will be the duration of Cherry

flower blossom.

The Tourism section of the Association

wants to adapt this traditional Japanese

event and make a better version in

Taiwan. The Kawashi Cherry trees has

been “trained” to adopt to the Taiwanese

climate, and are mainly planted around the

Hatta Park, accompanied by the stone

laterns and Japanese landscaping, Spring in laterns and Japanese landscaping, Spring in

Wusanto is going to be rather Japanese this

year.

Since it would be rather costly for

sourthern Taiwan’s resident to travel to

visit the Taipei flora show up north,

Nanyuan Farm is hosting it’s own

exhibition here in Tainan, with a sea of

red, white and pink Azalea.

Sio-House and Super Popular Wishing BanyanThe century-old banyan tree is a new scenic spot in Anping Sio-house, as a new wishing place. In order to create a romantic atmosphere, Sio-house sets a “Lucky Beaver” and wish cards next to the banyan tree. It attracts many domestic and foreign tourists to make wishes here. The features of the old building combine the element of constancy salt which makes Sio-house become popular scenic spot. Furthermore, there is a century-old banyan tree that is integrated into whole Sio-house construction, and become an important background as the populace photographing. Before the Valentine’s Day, the authority built an imitated Japanese shrine and set a wishing bell and wishing card, then collocates with “Lucky Beaver” which is popular in Japan to satisfy the public's wishes and aspirations of misfortunes. During Chinese New Year, many tourists came to see the banyan tree and wrote down their wishes on the wish cards, pulled the bell and

touched the lucky beaver f or wishing dreams come true in next year.
