34th Annual Crab Cioppino Dinner

By Co-Chairs Gary Pellegrini and Bill Meyer Once again fellow Lions, together we pulled off another great Crab Cioppino dinner at St. Dunstan's hall. We've said this before, Lions don't do this for personal recognition or "fame", they do it to serve the community (and have fun doing it). But a few call outs are necessary in this case. First, a special thank you to Lion PP Ron and Lady Carol Frediani for donating the fabulous pendant for the door prize. It was on display at the check-in table and everyone wanted to take it right then as they walked it! The lucky winner was thrilled. Second, another huge thank you to Lady Carol Meyer who spent countless hours mailing flyers, collecting money, sending out tickets, keeping track of table requests, organizing the check-in area, handling last minute special requests with great patience, laying out the table seating, and more! Lastly, Tail Twister Lion EJ had some great raffle prizes and an innovative drawing scheme that allowed people to put their raffle tickets toward the specific prize they coveted. Many other deserve credit of course, but in all, over 30 Lions spent well over 300 hours in aggregate to make it all happen smoothly. In addition, as you can see from the pictures, we had 7 hardworking Leo’s do the serving. The profit and loss statement is still being finalized, but it appears we took in close $12,000 net from this event - all for the community! Job well done and a big thank you to everyone who helped and who bought tickets for an enjoyable delicious and fun community event.

Top to Bottom Left to Right – 1. Crab Cioppino Co-Chairs Gary Pellegrini and Bill Meyer -2. Ronald Pape, Rob DuCote, Howard Hudson, Hardit Chaudhary, Bart Speccia, Gary Pellegrini and Whitney Broussard – 3. George Habeeb and PDG Art Pignati and Lady Helen Habeeb, Ken Ibarra and Howard Hudson – 4. Anthony Caccia, John Muniz, John La Duca and Bart Speccia.

Lions Clubs Code of Ethics

• To Show my faith in the worthiness of my vocation by industrious application to the end that I may merit a reputation for quality of service.

• To Seek success and to demand all fair remuneration or profit as my just due, but to accept no profit or success at the price of my own self-respect lost because of unfair advantage taken or because of questionable acts on my part.

• To Remember that in building up my business it is not necessary to tear down another's; to be loyal to my clients or customers and true to myself.

• Whenever a doubt arises as to the right or ethics of my position or action towards others, to resolve such doubt against myself.

• To Hold friendship as an end and not a means. To hold that true friendship exists not on account of the service performed by one to another, but that true friendship demands nothing but accepts service in the spirit in which it is given.

• Always to bear in mind my obligations as a citizen to my nation, my state, and my community, and to give them my unswerving loyalty in word, act, and deed. To give them freely of my time, labor and means.

• To Aid others by giving my sympathy to those in distress, my aid to the weak, and my substance to the needy.

• To Be Careful with my criticism and liberal with my praise; to build up and not destroy.

Lions Clubs Objectives

• To CREATE and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world.

• To UNITE the clubs in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship, and mutual understanding.

• To TAKE an active interest in the civic, cultural, social, and moral welfare of the community.

• To PROMOTE the principles of good government and good citizenship.

• To ENCOURAGE service minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward, and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors.

The legendary Millbrae Lions Youth Baseball 2019 Season will soon be underway.

During the past 1.5 years, under the amazing leadership of Millbrae Lion Steve Henderson (Baseball

Last year, 400 youths participated and we expect the program to grow for the 2019 season! Our baseball program

is active for both the Spring and Summer seasons.
