REBUILD, REFRESH, RENEW UDATES: ALREADY DONE: Statue of Our Lady of Fatima has been removed and a new one has been ordered. IN PROCESS RIGHT NOW : Architect is working on detailed drawings for Our Lady of Fatima's new place and prayer areas inside the church. NEXT ON THE LIST: The restrooms in front of the school and new school office. Projects of this size feel like they take forever, and are sooo expensive… but worth it, since we aim to ensure a vibrant Catholic presence here for decades to come.

A note from the Administrator
Dear friends,
Finally comes the good news --- on Saturday June 13 churches in our diocese open again! It has been a very long journey. Some things will be shockingly different: social distancing, a maximum of 100 in any enclosed area, temperature-taking, face masks, sanitation assistants and stations everywhere, new protocols. Next week there will be more information about how we’ll handle the crowds --- the solution is bound to include outside Masses spread out over large spaces so no one is turned away. We’ll adjust … because we have to. Catholics are allowed to whine and moan … for awhile. But eventually we have to get over it. Our Leader, from the confining condition of a cross, cried and wept … and then reached out to God and found the strength he needed to move forward. And we’ll move forward to. In the meantime, let’s pray for each other … and for our poor country with the heartbreaking social unrest.

Estimados amigos, Finalmente llegan las buenas noticias --- ¡el Sábado 13 de Junio las Iglesias de nuestra Diócesis abrirán de nuevo! Ha sido un trayecto muy largo. Algunas cosas serán sorprendentemente diferentes: distanciamiento social, un máximo de 100 personas en cualquier área cerrada, toma de temperatura, máscaras faciales, asistentes y estaciones de saneamiento en todas partes, nuevos protocolos. La próxima semana habrá más información acerca de cómo manejaremos a las multitudes --- la solución seguramente incluirá Misas externas distribuidas en grandes espacios para que nadie sea rechazado. Nos ajustaremos ... porque tenemos que hacerlo. A los Católicos se les permite lamentarse y quejarse ... por un tiempo. Pero eventualmente tenemos que superarlo. Nuestro Líder, desde la condición del confinamiento en una cruz, lloró y lloró ... y luego se acercó a Dios y encontró la fuerza que necesitaba para avanzar. Y no-sotros avanzaremos. Mientras tanto, recemos los unos por los otros ... y por nuestro pobre país con este disturbio social desgarrador. Paz, todo bien! P. Mike

Hello Parish Family, I hope you and your loved ones continue to be well. Just like most public schools, the Faith Formation department, including the Confirmation program, closed their doors about two months ago. A great deal has changed since then, particularly when it comes to living and expressing our faith. Many of us are looking to find our new normal and many of us, including myself, are asking when? So my hope in this email is to give some updates concerning our program and Confirmation ceremonies for year 3 students. Earlier last month, during the start of the pandemic restrictions, our Bishop made the difficult decision to postpone Confirmations. It has been made clear, that churches and church services will resume again during phase 3 of the Governor’s guidelines for reopening California. In many ways this is good news as we are starting to see progress made in fighting the pandemic. Yet, it still leaves many unanswered questions concerning the specific date for a confirmation ceremony or for any church event. But we are getting closer and we will keep you posted with any new updates as we receive them. For now, no dates have been given and we are called by leadership to practice the virtue of patience :) Here are some things to remember while in waiting: Our confirmation program has offered our teens some great videos that the whole family can watch. Check them out by clicking this link: https://smmchino.org/confirmation-2/ Our Faith Formation program is offering whole family faith teachings on Saturday mornings at 10am via our live stream service with Nancy and Father Mike: https://masslivestream.com/churches/stmargaretmary We have many wonderful opportunities to pray and grow in the faith via the parish’s Mass and prayer services online. If you haven’t done so yet, check them out. They are excellent! Lastly, thank you for your continued patience and support. Hopefully we will see everyone soon.
