He reminds them that there is only one God and all people must keep his commandments. If the laws of God are kept, his people will prosper all their lives. Second Reading: Romans 8:14-17 Paul explains that through the Holy Spirit, we become children of God. As heirs of God we must be willing to suffer as Christ was if we are to share in his glory. Gospel: Matthew 28:16-20 Jesus asks his disciples to go to other nations and teach others all that they have learned.
