Located in the historic building called “The Morton House” in Duncan Park. Which was originally built as a house by William Morton (one of Lexington's first millionaires in 1810)

When he died, his daughters sold it to Cassius Clay who published “The Tr American” which was written in the Lexington’s first abolitionist newspaper.

Began in 1977 › Merge from 2 local non-profits originally being

“The Lexington Child Abuse Council” and “The Women’s Center of Central Kentucky”

MISSION STATEMENT The Nest-Center for Women, Children,

and Families is a local, nonprofit organization that promotes healing, stability and well-being of children and families. Our mission is to provide education, counseling, and support to families in crisis.

Forced to close in 2009, reopened 2010 14 Full time staff members and 5 Interns.

Includes all directors and child care staff. Helps families to live a healthier lifestyle and child

development. Night for the Nest (Fundraising event for sponsorship

opportunities) Reindeer Express (Event for donation for 717 children) Parenting Classes

Court ordered, Truancy Childcare (Award-winning)

Respite, “drop-in” , full-time Counseling

Domestic violence Crisis Care
