So kindly keep this news letter for these three weeks. Our forty days of waiting and preparing ourselves in prayer, fasting, abstinence and engaging in acts of mercy, not to mention the celebration of the sacrament of confession, has now come to its climax, the Holy Week. We ‘repented and believed’ as we were reminded on Ash Wednesday with the imposition with ashes, and so the great mysteries we celebrate on this day will follow naturally, strengthening us in our faith and help us grow, Easter by Easter and year by year. You would find the church’s liturgy concentrating only on the ‘Triduum’ . The rubrics - liturgical norms invites us to gather as a people for just one celebration of these holy days and so bring together people for just one celebration to draw the richness. All our preparations and efforts to focus on these days. I would invite you to join in full strength in taking part in these holy days of the Triduum with prayer and reflection with plenty of quiet time if one could afford, in concentrating on the suffering, death and resurrection. I know you would. Those doing various parts supporting the parish for the benefit of all, will do so duly and diligently. The spiritual fruits of this celebration will rightly be ours. The Easter liturgical celebrations, particularly the Vigil service although is long, is rich in symbol- ism and meaning. We may be tempted to feel like avoiding it. The sheer number of Easter Vigil read- ings can be overwhelming, yet their very richness points to the extraordinary nature of Jesus’ resurrec- tion. Genesis tells us that God gave life to humans; that Abraham planned to sacrifice his only son as an offering to God but instead became father of a great nation. Exodus describes how Israelites in Egypt received a whole new lease of life when freed from slavery. Isaiah promises a new life to people in exile, and insists that this message is true because God’s word cannot fail. Ezekiel says that the Lord will give his people a new heart. All these reach its fulfilment in Jesus’ resurrection: Paul testifies to this in Romans, and the Gospel carries the message that Jesus is no longer among the dead, but has risen as he said, as it was said throughout the history. God’s word is fulfilled! It has created, a new creation in Christ. It is not a story cooked up by the church, or what you and I say, or some mad person ‘Jesus’ said in the past. It is the fulfilment of all ages. You will appreciate going through the Easter readings. On these three days there will be many who will be working hard to make sure that the liturgy runs smoothly making our celebrations prayerful for the benefit of all. A big thank you. If you have any suggestions to better it, do let me know. Have a blessed Holy Week and a Very Happy Easter!! 19th Mar– 10th Apr 2016 Palm Sunday, Holy Week, Easter Sunday& Easter Season Psalter Proper PRAYER TO THE HOLY TRINITY FOR THE PREPARATION OF MASS Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, come to us and renew us as we gather to celebrate this Sunday Mass. Messages from Fr Prem: Easter is not without the Holy Week, so this edition of the newsletter will

carry both the Holy Week and the Easter Weeks Masses. So kindly keep this news letter for these three

weeks. Our forty days of waiting and preparing ourselves in prayer, fasting, abstinence and engaging in

acts of mercy, not to mention the celebration of the sacrament of confession, has now come to its

climax, the Holy Week. We ‘repented and believed’ as we were reminded on Ash Wednesday with the

imposition with ashes, and so the great mysteries we celebrate on this day will follow naturally,

strengthening us in our faith and help us grow, Easter by Easter and year by year.

You would find the church’s liturgy concentrating only on the ‘Triduum’ . The rubrics - liturgical

norms invites us to gather as a people for just one celebration of these holy days and so bring together

people for just one celebration to draw the richness. All our preparations and efforts to focus on these

days. I would invite you to join in full strength in taking part in these holy days of the Triduum with

prayer and reflection with plenty of quiet time if one could afford, in concentrating on the suffering,

death and resurrection. I know you would. Those doing various parts supporting the parish for the

benefit of all, will do so duly and diligently. The spiritual fruits of this celebration will rightly be ours.

The Easter liturgical celebrations, particularly the Vigil service although is long, is rich in symbol-

ism and meaning. We may be tempted to feel like avoiding it. The sheer number of Easter Vigil read-

ings can be overwhelming, yet their very richness points to the extraordinary nature of Jesus’ resurrec-

tion. Genesis tells us that God gave life to humans; that Abraham planned to sacrifice his only son as

an offering to God but instead became father of a great nation. Exodus describes how Israelites in

Egypt received a whole new lease of life when freed from slavery. Isaiah promises a new life to people

in exile, and insists that this message is true because God’s word cannot fail. Ezekiel says that the Lord

will give his people a new heart. All these reach its fulfilment in Jesus’ resurrection: Paul testifies to this

in Romans, and the Gospel carries the message that Jesus is no longer among the dead, but has risen

as he said, as it was said throughout the history. God’s word is fulfilled! It has created, a new creation

in Christ. It is not a story cooked up by the church, or what you and I say, or some mad person ‘Jesus’

said in the past. It is the fulfilment of all ages. You will appreciate going through the Easter readings.

On these three days there will be many who will be working hard to make sure that the liturgy

runs smoothly making our celebrations prayerful for the benefit of all. A big thank you. If you have

any suggestions to better it, do let me know. Have a blessed Holy Week and a Very Happy Easter!!
