Well Done Granville and Happy 60 th Birthday. Burwood Girls High “Big Night Out” Well, I wasn’t planning on attending, however Janette said we were. It was one of those times that I have experienced in Rotary when you are not expecting too much but then when you make the effort you are blown away by the experience. Also attending was Lourice and Fuad, Sana, Rob and Tim. I am so glad Janette made me go. What a spectacular evening. BGHS really went overboard in providing the entertainment. Burwood Rotary members had been given passes and we had the best seats in the house. We were provided with nibbles and drinks, including wine. It was a wonderful gesture from BGHS to show their appreciation for our contribution to the school. I was thrilled when I commented to a lady giving us drinks and nibbles that we were being spoilt. She said ”You guys are worth it”. I found out later that she was one of the deputies. It is great to know how much our contribution is appreciated. Acknowledgement was also made during the evening of the construction of the storage room by members of our club.

We were treated to some great music including singing by Pattie Amphlett (I know her as Little Patti). Pattie is a tutor at the school and presented a group of girls who sang songs from the 60’s. I particularly like the presentation of the 1812 Overture. There was so much more and it all was brilliant. So glad I went. I hope I have the opportunity of attending next year. Congratulations to the staff and students of BGHS.
