Quick guide – Re 620 V4Wachsamkeitskontrolle/SIFA

The Re 620 has a deadmans safety system which is like a distance-distance SIFA. When the system is switched on (Shift-7) it is in ‘Schnellgang’ (fast mode). A warning will sound after 50 meter. To prevent this the driver needs to press the pedal (Space) before that or quickly after the warning.

When the driver pushes and holds the pedal the system goes into‘Langsamgang’ (slow mode). Now the warning sounds after 1600 meter. Tosimulate this press Crtl-Space (pedal down). The driver must move the Throttle or Trainbrake or release the pedal shortly (Space) before 1600 meter is travelled.

Failing to correctly operate the Wachsamkeitskontrolle causes a warning andeventually an emergencybraking after 100 resp. 1800 meters.

When driving too fast a warning (red led) will start blinkingand eventually an emergencybrake will be initiated.

If there is no (correct) information available, the display will show ----. When in Manoever mode the display willshow 40.

Test ZUB by pressing the green ZUB button. The lights willflash and a E-brake will be initiated. Reset ZUB by pressing the red ZUB button. Acknowledge speedwarnings bypressing the ‘zugsicherung’ turnknob or (Q).

Quick guide – Re 620 V4Manoever mode

When shunting or needing to pass a red light at low speed, the driver can switch off the Zugsicherungtemporarily by engaging the ‘Manoever’mode (Ctrl-M).

When active the Manoever light comes on and the speedlimit is now 40 Km/h. It is now possible to pass a red signal without causing an emergencybrake.

On passing a red signal in this mode the ZUB buzzer andlight will sound 3 times.
