The St. John Vianney RCIA Team e St. John Vianney RCIA team recruits members of our church who “should shine in the fruit of the Holy Spirit, namely in love, joy, peace, patience and kindness.” (Gal. 5:22-23). ey should be practicing Catholics, mature in their faith, and loyal to the Church. e team consists of spiritual advisors and catechists who offer instruction to newcomers in the Catholic way of life. ese catechists are chosen in response to the great commission of Jesus to all the faithful: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit” (Mt. 28: 19- 20). We mean to share our joy in Jesus by witnessing and by example. Sponsors will assist candidates in our Journey of Faith. e RCIA program was created for the benefit of the inquirers, “us you shall remember and do all my commandments, and you shall be holy to your God.” (Num 15:40). Join us in this year’s Journey of Faith to “Love and serve the Lord.” Where We Meet: If you are interested in exploring the Catholic Faith in a relaxed, informal setting, you are invited to sit in on a few classes. We meet in the Columbus Room (downstairs in the Church) from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on ursday nights. The RCIA Program We begin our Journey of Faith on ursday, September 10, 2015, and follow the Liturgical Calendar that ends on Pentecost Sunday. Phase One: A period of time set aside to get acquainted with the church and its members, obtain answers to ques- tions regarding the faith, and to consider whether the Catholic faith is right for you. is phase is called “the period of inquiry.” Phase Two: e “Rite of Acceptance into the Catechu- menate.” is acknowledges the intention of the inquir- ers to continue their journey toward full membership into the Catholic Faith and involves study and training in the Catholic way of life. Through the RCIA, the Catholic Church extends an invitation to: • Unbaptized persons who wish to become Catholic; • Baptized Christians of other denominations who would like to enter the Catholic Church; • Catholics who have been away and wish to return; or • Catholics who have not completed their Sacraments of Communion and Confirmation. The St. John Vianney RCIA Team

The St. John Vianney RCIA team recruits members of our church who “should shine in the fruit of the Holy Spirit, namely in love, joy, peace, patience and kindness.” (Gal. 5:22-23). They should be practicing Catholics, mature in their faith, and loyal to the Church. The team consists of spiritual advisors and catechists who offer instruction to newcomers in the Catholic way of life.
