Under the arches of the Main Guard every lunchtime of the festival, a different school or choreographer will be invited to give a short presentation and then lead the public in a workshop. From hip-hop to ballet, from tango to contemporary dance, the public can participate as spectators or as dancers, according to their confidence level.
Down the LaneLaneways of Clonmel 1st - 7th July
Down The Lane is a project that places the work of artists and arts practitioners in the heart of Clonmel’s downtown. The laneway in a modern town has a negative connotation (dark, dirty, perhaps dangerous). We invite our artists to shine a light into these spaces in order to reclaim them for the public and to use them as a public gallery for art. Sound installations, projections, murals, sculptural pieces, we will work with the artists to turn the town centre into an art gallery for the week of the Festival.

Sliabh na mBan - Mollie Anna KingSouth Tipperary Arts Centre Opens Tuesday 2nd 10-5pm daily
Kilcash artist Mollie Anna King works with the physical and historical elements of Sliabh na mBan and the surrounding rural area, drawing from folklore and the Cairn located at its peak. A constructed architectural form is created in the gallery of the Arts Centre which combines the well-worn paths of the mountain with that of a daily routine to become an inlayed domestic floorplan. The structure takes its measurements from domestic, display, rural and recreational spaces - areas of continuous use that feature as part of this ritual. This space uses local materials (clay, stone, heather and gorse from the mountain) to
construct and ground the artwork.

Showgrounds Shopping Centre With Tipperary County Museum
From 1st July
In the early 1970s, artist Robert Ballagh received his first major commission with a series of eighteen panels
for the Five Star Shopping Centre in Clonmel. These pieces by a pioneering Irish artist, that observe and chronicle Irish people of the period as they stand and
observe in a heightened realistic setting, had a profound effect on a generation of Clonmel people, informing their
visual references as well as the sense of place they felt towards their environment. The availability of the work
in the mall of a shopping centre made it a startlingly democratic and accessible piece of public art.
