Meet Myrabel Theobald Myrabel and her daughter, Janis, watched with anticipation as the Fountains was being built. When touring for the first time, she thought the Fountains was absolutely beautiful, and she was ready to make it her new home! Myrabel grew up in the small town of Mechanicsburg, Illinois. She graduated from Tri- City High School, where she was very involved in the choir and the band, playing the flute. Among the band members was her future husband, trumpet player Arthur Ray. eir love of music brought them together at the Community Band Concert. Later Myrabel attended Browns Business College where she obtained her stenographer title. She was employed in the loan department at a local bank and was heavily involved with collections. She and Arthur Ray (whom she fondly called Ray) were married and pursued farming for 65 ½ years. He was the farmer, and Myrabel assisted him. She took care of their three children and the home. One of the many hats she wore was to be Ray’s “gofer” by picking up parts, fertilizer, etc. Ray and Myrabel were very successful in producing soybeans and corn that was sold at the local Co-op Elevator. Over the years, they had hogs, sheep, cattle, chickens and even dogs and a few cats. You might say that the eobalds had a “full house”! On top of their busy schedule, they had family time, too. ey traveled to the Ozarks to fish, and also traveled to Colorado and North Michigan with the children. As a family they attended the Presbyterian Church, and the children participated in 4H. ey also loved music and concerts. Her son, Jim, became a musician; son Jerry, a farmer and daughter Janis, a wonderful mother. Myrabel now has seven grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. After her children were older, Myrabel fulfilled a promise to herself to pursue art classes at the Springfield Art Association. To date, her skill as an artist has been strengthened by that experience. Beginning in June, Myrabel’s art, along with some other residents’ art, will be featured in the Community Room at the Fountains of Franklin. Her dream would be to go back to England and France where she and Ray once traveled. While in France, they had the privilege of attending a concert with Julio Inglesias where their son, Jim, played percussion. What a treat! Myrabel loves being here at the Fountains. One huge compliment she would like to mention is the great management and staff. She is so grateful that Ricki and Sue have an open door policy. ey are always available and cooperative. She thinks that is a special touch and makes the Fountains unique. 300 Celebration Circle Franklin, TN 37067 Phone: 615.567.3717 www.fountainsfranklin.com JUNE 2014 Make sure to ‘like’ the Fountains of Franklin facebook page! Meet Diana WearDiana watched the Fountains of Franklin evolve as she passed by daily on her way to work. From the time the ground was broken, she waited anxiously for an opportunity to interview. She wanted a new job and hoped that the Fountains would be a better company to work for. Having 30 + years of nursing background, she has been a strong asset for the Fountains of Franklin. She worked as an assisted living nurse in Florida for ten years, and later was offered the position of Director of Nursing. For relaxation, Diana is an avid reader and loves playing with her grandchildren. She is happy that her kids are grown and out of the house, and she can love those grandchildren and then give them back. That’s the joy of being a grandparent! She feels so fortunate to be a part of the Fountains of Franklin. She enjoys the residents, staff and families, and she hopes she is helping them as much as they help her. Diana’s dream is to retire and maybe work only a day or two weekly. Until then, we are so thankful that she is here taking care of each member of the Fountains’ family.
