Meet Linda Haedge Linda remembers the day, as though it were yesterday. On Sunday, June 16, 2013, Father’s Day, she was with her son and his wife, returning from a family celebration and happened to drive by the Fountains of Franklin. ey were so impressed with the looks of the facility. An appointment was scheduled the next day to tour the Fountains of Franklin with Sue Hall. Linda fondly shares that when she entered the doors her heart picked up an extra beat, ruminating how beautiful it was. Another reason she chose the Fountains, is the convenience to Cool Springs, close to her son’s house, friends, and near her church on Concord Road where she is a member. Linda grew up in Texas where she met her husband whom was in the service during World War II. After his discharge, they were married in 1945. ey journeyed together to Minnesota wherein they had one son, two daughters and lived happily together. Her husband had already graduated dental school when they married, so she was a “stay at home” wife and mother. She loved it, loved cooking, decorating, gardening and sewing. Linda was also involved with her church, school and did volunteer work. When the kids were off to college, her husband bought a Cessna 172 and got his private license. After a few trips with him, Linda decided to join him. She got her private license, built up enough hours in the air for an instrumental rating. In time, she earned her commercial license. She gained a lot of air time hours by flying blood for the American Red Cross for over seven years. e Red Cross Center, serving and covering a five state area was located in St. Paul. One of the biggest users was the University of Minnesota. During those years, they were doing a lot of heart surgeries and were the first to perform bone marrow transplants. One of her highlights in life was flying the Powder Puff Derby from Palm Springs, California to Tampa, Florida, but perhaps she says being a speaker at the National American Red Cross Convention was a bigger moment. When her husband retired, and they sold their plane, the two of them were off for another journey in life. e next destination was Arizona for a few years, later to Texas to care for her mother, and she then returned to Minnesota. roughout all their many memorable and happy journeys they did reach the magic 50 year mark. But, after losing her mother and husband her next journey was to Tennessee to be with family. Linda has been blessed with 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren... she says her “quiver is full”. She is also grateful to be a part of another loving family and that’s the Fountains of Franklin. 300 Celebration Circle Franklin, TN 37067 Phone: 615.567.3717 www.fountainsfranklin.com APRIL 2014 Make sure to ‘like’ the Fountains of Franklin facebook page! Meet Brenda RummellBrenda was born and raised in Michigan. She was the oldest of three siblings in a traditional Christian home. She grew up singing in church and was the youngest youth to sing in the adult choir. She later sang with a ladies group that traveled to other churches. She always loved the thought of travel and wanted to be a travel agent when she graduated from high school, but fate had a way of changing her plans. She met her husband Paul in church, and they married in 1980. They have two sons – Brian, who lives in Germany with his girlfriend Desi and is working on his PHD in Neuro-Science, and Patrick, who lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with his new wife Jess. Patrick works at the Kroger headquarters as an Analyst. Brenda was a kindergarten assistant for ten years at the elementary school where her boys attended. She then worked at The Manor at Steeplechase as an Activity Director for eleven years before coming to the Fountains. This is not just a job for Brenda, but a true ministry. She feels this is just where God has placed her, and she loves everyday that she gets to spend with her residents. Brenda feels she is the cheerleader of the Fountains and wants all the residents to get excited about the activities and life in general.

Brenda and Paul have traveled all over the world; they have been to 42 countries and 40 states. Each trip is an adventure, and they always learn something new and exciting. On the weekends, they love to go to garage sales and thrift stores to hunt for unexpected treasures. They also have a 4 year-old Golden Doodle, named Kona, who they love to spoil. Brenda loves to work in her flower garden, and she loves to walk. She hopes to do a half marathon in the future!
