“Two or more people working together towards a shared goal with shared values and purpose”. The definion of organizaon itself depicts a clear image that people all work in a team. One eminent thing we know about teams is that if the team wins, all the team members win. Knowing this moves our focus on to achieving the team goal rather than our own individual aims and the performance of the team can then shiſt into another gear. However, it also imperavely requires effecve leadership to maneuver people in teams. In addion, understanding on how to movate team members is also crical in ensuring successfulness of team. This short course thus considers the crical role of leadership, movaon in generang effecve teams in organizaons. This is a fun, interacve course that develops the key skills necessary for becoming a high- performing member of a high- performing team. It will enable parcipants to discover the mix of aributes, skills and capabilies required of successful leadership and the nature of working in teams. Upon compleon of this course, parcipants will be able to: Develop an awareness and understanding about: i) The role of leadership and its key importance in developing high performance teams. Ii) The role and importance of teams in organizaons, the characteriscs of effecve teams and the strategies organizaons pursue to create and build effecve teams Iii) The importance of movaon in leading effecve teams Iv) The individual skills and aributes we need to funcon as effecve leaders and team players, so as to idenfy areas for development and growth. Aain some praccal experience on how to: i) Fit in well with any team and contribute posively to its effecve performance ii) Movate their fellow team-members to perform more successfully and consistently iii) Co-operate in team-based problem-solving as opposed to working in isolaon iv) Understand the need for diversity and be able to work with different types of people v) Deal beer with difficult personalies, improve their influencing skills and help their team from good to great.
