New GTC Projects - World’s Largest for BTX and Isom

GTC Technology has signed an agreement

with Hengli Petrochemical (Dalian)

Refinery Co., Ltd., to provide licensed

technology for two large-scale projects at a

new refinery in Changxing Dao, Liaoning

Province, People’s Republic of China.

When completed, each unit will be largest

of its kind in the world, and will play an

integral role in the 20 MM TPY refinery

being constructed by Hengli. Start-up is

planned for 2016.

GTC will provide its GT-BTX® technology

for a 3 MM TPY aromatics extraction unit

along with the basic engineering package, technical services, proprietary solvent and

equipment. GTC will also supply its Isomalk-2℠ process for a 2.4 MM TPY light naphtha

isomerization unit as well as the basic engineering package, technical services, proprietary

catalyst and adsorbent.

“We are delighted about the selection of GT-BTX and Isomalk-2” said Sam Kumar, President –

GTC (Beijing) Technology Inc. “We are confident that Hengli will find significant value-added

performance with these technologies, just as a growing number of others have, and are excited

about another opportunity to serve the Asian fuels and chemicals market.”

Thanks to Dr. Rao

GTC’s Houston office recently gathered to recognize GTC’s longtime

consultant and friend, Dr. T.S.R. Prasada Rao, for his work with GTC and for

receiving Petrotech’s 2014 Lifetime

Achievement Award for his R&D

contributions to India’s oil, gas, and petrochemical industry. Dr.

Rao, who is also Chairman of Sarasijam Technologies, and the

former Director

of the Indian

Institute of

Petroleum, has

collaborated with GTC since the mid-1990s. While

visiting family in Houston this summer, Dr. Rao took

the opportunity to meet with GTC colleagues to discuss

ways to promote GTC’s licensing and branding in India.

PET Office Attains ISO 9001 Registration

GTC’s Process Equipment Technology (PET) group has attained a Certificate of Registration for conformance with ISO 9001:2008 standards. Perry Johnson Registrars, Inc., issued the independent confirmation that GTC has met the requirements of ISO 9001, with respect to the “design, manufacture, installation and technical services for mass transfer equipment (tower internal products).”

“GTC is very pleased to reach ISO certification. Our goal has always been to keep challenging ourselves to be more efficient in all areas of our business,” said Brad Fleming, General Manager of GTC’s Euless manufacturing facility. Daniele Ferlisi, Head of the PET Business Unit, added, “Every member of our team is watchful for opportunities to improve procedures, lower costs, and better serve our clients.”

ISO 9000, a series of standards developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), defines, establishes, and maintains a quality assurance system for manufacturing and service industries.

GTC Gives Back Campaign!

With 2013’s backpack and school supply drive

being such a success, GTC Houston launched

another one this year to support local area

schools through the YMCA’s Operation Back

Campaign. Employees had the opportunity to

donate student backpacks loaded with much

needed school items, as well as a note of

encouragement to the student

And after all that donating, what

could be more appropriate than a

well deserved ice cream sundae

break?

Mid-Autumn Festival in Beijing

GTC Beijing observed the traditional Chinese

Mid-Autumn Festival on August 15 of the Lunar

Calendar which falls on Monday, Sept. 8, this

year. As a tradition, the office staff gathers for

lunch to celebrate. People normally give

mooncakes to friends and relatives during this

season, and as a result, the mooncake business

makes a good profit each year. This is why

Häagen-Dazs and Starbucks got into the

mooncake business. To attract customers,

mooncake stalls are set up

in convenient locations

throughout the city,

including next to the GTC

office building.

The staff also celebrated
