New Features

The following new features have been added in version 13.5.0 of TIBCO Statistica™.

● Normality Node: The Normality tests node is added to easily compute univariate normality testsfor each user-specified variable and multivariate normality tests for two or more variables.

The following tests of normality can be computed for each user-specified variable:

— Kolmogorov-Smirnov test statistic

— Kolmogorov-Smirnov p-value

— Lilliefors p-value

— Anderson-Darling test statistic

— Anderson-Darling p-value (assuming parameters are known)

— Anderson-Darling p-value (assuming parameters are unknown)

— Shapiro-Wilks p-value

If two or more variables are selected, then you can compute the following tests for multivariatenormality:

— Mardia’s test of multivariate skewness

— Mardia’s test of multivariate kurtosis

● Select Predictors Node: The Select Predictors is added to select target variable for predictiveanalytics problems. The node classifies the remaining variables as continuous or categoricalpredictors. This node connects only to a single data source.

● Spotfire Integration: A Spotfire analyst creating a Statistica Data Function can now parameterizethe connected Statistica workspace. When you attempt to register a new Statistica Data Function byselecting a workspace, input parameters of value-type are created to expose node-level parameters. This is in addition to the input (table-type and value-type) and output (table-type) parameterscreated based on the "input" nodes, "output" nodes, and workspace dictionary variables that arecreated. This gives the analyst greater control over the analytic options.

You can reduce the number of Statistica workspace parameters exposed to the Spotfire analyst:When editing a workspace in Statistica, select the Designer View button, you can select or clearnodes and parameters within nodes.

The following table lists the miscellaneous enhancements that are added in the version 13.5.0 of TIBCOStatistica™ :

Module Name Description

Web-based DataEntry

Display full revisionhistory (audit log)

This feature is used to display full revision history(audit log) during manual data entry.

The person viewing the sample or entering data canclick the View Sample Revision History button. In thenew browser that opens, you can view and filter theaudit log. Clicking the CSV button exports the audit logto a .csv file.

The IIS setting, LogAllSampleChanges, mustbe true; otherwise, changes to the data arenot stored in the audit log.

Disable all fields onceSave is clicked

After you click Save, fields cannot be modified until thepage is refreshed.

New IIS setting,BlindDataEntrySyncFields

By default, this option is set to false.

To share (sync) a field (sample label) between the twopeople doing blind data entry, set this option to true .This allows the two people to communicate through acomment field.

This change is specific when Blind Data Entry isenabled for a Data Entry Setup and a field (SampleLabel) does not match between two samples.

when creating the Data Entry Setup, do notselect User this field matching the two BlindData Entry samples check box.

Data Entry Person 1: Enters data on form. This is thePrimary Sample. Type XYZ in the Sample Label field.Save the form but do not mark it complete. This value isnot compared (matched) between the two samples. Thisfield is used to communicate with the Person 2 who isdoing data entry.

Data Entry Person 2: Enters the Matching Sample. SeeXYZ in the Sample Label field. Append additional textto this comment or replace all the text with ABC. Savethe form and mark it complete.

Data Entry Person 1: Views the Primary Sample. Theysee ABC in the Sample Label field. They append text sothe Sample Label field now contains ABC XYZ. Save theform and mark it complete.

Data Entry Person 2: Views the Matching Sample andsees ABC XYZ.

New IIS setting,CommentNotRequired

By default this option is set to false. If this is set to true, then modifications (save, delete, approve) do notrequire text in the Comments field. The Commentsfield is part of every form for viewing within the DataEntry Server. The Comments field is not part of thedata.

Therefore if a customer wants a note (comment) withthe data, they must create a Sample Label to containthis information and set this to true.

New IIS setting,RequireApprovalOnDelete

By default this option is set to false. Set this to true anda second user with HEDIT permission must login toapprove the deletion of the sample.

Workspace Reorder elements You can now reorder the elements in the ∑ Placementgroup box of the Reporting Table node.

Elasticsearch TextAnalytics node

Open Elasticsearch Text Analysis parameter dialog box.On the Specifications > Quick tab, select Files .

Examine Browse For Folder dialog box. The selecteddirectory is now displayed on this dialog box.

PI node A calendar control is added to start time and end timefields.

Customize Outputsdialog box

The Suppress output check box is added to CustomizeOutputs dialog box. You can open this dialog box byaccessing any node in the workspace. Right-click thenode and select Customize Outputs option.

This allows the workspace designer to decide whichoutput, per node, shows up in Reporting Documents. This feature combined with Spotfire integrationprovides granular control over what the Spotfireanalyst can see and simplifies the user experience.

All the graph outputs from all nodes or a specific nodecan be suppressed. All the spreadsheet (table) outputscan be suppressed for all nodes or a specific node.Individual graphs or spreadsheets can also besuppressed.

Wildcard support inVariable selection

Rank, Process Invariant Variables, Filter DuplicateCases, Filter Sparse Data, Process MD and MDImputation nodes now support wildcards (example:*CAT*) in variable selection.

Wild card variable selections are important for buildingtemplates that can be reused. Other nodes have thisfunctionality.

Always split onminimum p option

The Always split on minimum p option is added toITrees CHAID Classification and Regression nodes.

Changes in Functionality

The following functionality-related changes have been made in version 13.5.0 of TIBCO Statistica™.

Module Name Description

Analysis Lists overlap errormessage changed

When you work with large datasets and select longintricate lists of variables for analyses with differentvariable categories for example, dependent, categorical, continuous, and if some variables in these lists areoverlapping, it is hard to determine which variables areaffected to make a correction.

The Lists overlap error message has changed. It stateswhich variables overlap and it provides the followingthree options:

● Remove duplicates from first list

● Remove duplicates from second list

● Edit variable selections manually

Enterprise Description in Dataconfiguration

When a new Data Configuration off a Data Entry Setupis created, the description is copied to the DataConfiguration.

Spreadsheet Missing dataprocessing changed inspreadsheet formulas

Missing data (MD = no data, empty cell) processing haschanged in spreadsheet formulas.

To revert to the processing behavior in version 13.4 andearlier, select Home ribbon > Options > Spreadsheets >Use legacy MD comparisons in formulas. Afterchanging this setting quit and restart Statistica.

In version 13.4 and earlier, =iif(V1=V2, "match", "notmatch"), returned MD if either of the operands wereMD.

Example: if V1 had 1 and V2 had MD, then V1 = V2returned MD instead of "not match".

This process made it cumbersome to write formulasbecause iif tests could result in three different results(match or not match or MD) instead of two results(match or not match).

Starting from version 13.5, the result for the spreadsheetformula =iif(V1=V2, "match", "not match") is "notmatch" when V1 = 1 and V2 = MD. If V1 = MD and V2 =MD, then the results are "match".

StabilityAnalysis

Title header The title header is center aligned so that it does notoverlap the legend.

Web-based DataEntry

Change in IISsetting,LogAllSampleChanges

This IIS setting can now maintain audit log for changesmade in data.

For example:

1. Enter "one" in FieldA (nothing recorded in auditlog).

2. Change "one" to "two" in FieldA (recorded in auditlog).

From version 13.5, the audit log contains:

1. Add "one" to FieldA.

2. Change "one" to "two" in FieldA.

New IIS setting,MaxParentSamples

This change is related to Data Entry Setups that areincluded in a Data Entry Sequence.

Default is 1 level of samples. This is the maximum levelof parent samples used when evaluating constraintsand calculated formulas. Formulas can use variables(fields) from other forms to calculate values.

Change this to 0 and all parent instances within asequence are used. This is the behavior prior to therelease of 13.5. This can cause the calculations toperform slower.

For example, a sequence session has two parentinstances (data entered into 2 top-level forms) and 20child instances samples (data entered into 20 forms)and the last sample will load all 22 forms into memoryevery time a calculated formula is evaluated.

Folder access You might only be able see folders if they havepermission to use objects within folder. This changeonly applies to users logging into the Data Entry server.

User focus User focus must move to the data entry setup sampleslist, after save and complete or approve.

System AdminPermissions

If a System Admin (SADMIN) is logged in to the DataEntry server and did not have explicit permissions tothe Data Entry Sequence (either by user or groupmembership), no Recent Samples were displayed. Thishas been updated. The System Admin must seeeverything without limit.

Workspace Alternative LeastSquares Deploymentnode

Alternative Least Squares Deployment node ischanged. After selecting the Deploy to Enterprisebutton, the user must now select the new None optioninstead of selecting a specific Data Configuration.

This behavior has been changed in version 13.5. Theuser must hold CTRL or SHIFT key down to selectmultiple items.

SPC charts withalarming node

This report applies to the SPC charts with alarmingnode. The message is corrected for clarity aboutindividual observations and sample points whenspecification lines are plotted on X-Bar chart.

Note: Specification Violation on an X-Bar chart occurswhen at least one individual observations (raw data) ina sample are outside of specification limits, even if thesample average is within the Specification Limits.

To view the raw data points on the chart, select the RawData in X-Bar(X,MA) chart option on Chart Options 1tab.

Reporting Tablesnode

The Reporting Tables node generates a downstreamdataset for further analysis. In version 13.4 and earlier, this option was disabled by default.
