1.0Aims of TIS Library Development plan In three years time, TIS Library aim to be vibrant, active and welcoming place in the entire school; and strives to: Anticipate students and academic/non-academic staff needs and interests

Be open, inviting and relevant for students in every stages

Be a place that encourages exchange of ideas

Be a place that encourage knowledge and learning; and provides life-long learning opportunities

Provide a comfortable, space for school community to discuss and interact for academic activities and be a suitable place to focus on studying purpose.

Build supportive and strong partnerships that will benefit school community that are using of library service

Time International School Library will develop through the following areas of focus:

2.0Area of focus 1: Infrastructure2.1 Current InfrastructureThe current school library has been identified as being too small and inadequate for the optimal delivery of contemporary public library services, including community programming and events. Some of the current issues were highlighted below: One Library to cater Elementary, Primary and Secondary level needs. Library size, no separate section between silent study area or discussions area. Library is cramped, and there isn't enough space for activities such as story telling sessions, etc. No designated area for OPAC (Library search engine) stations for students and academic staff to search any Library resources.

2.2Development PlanIn accordance of International Baccalaureate (IB) program implementation, development focuses on the need for a better school library, and provides strategies that will better inform and prepare library staff and management; to design the future library.GoalsProposed planResponsibilityTime frame

3.0Area of focus 2: Resources3.1 Current Library resourcesAs at 28th February 2015, TIS Library collection has reached almost 2000 titles for printed resources which hugely consist of printed books, magazines and reference. For the time being, Library consist 80 % of Printed Resources compared to Electronic Resources, and from 80 % of Printed resources, most of titles are categorized under FICTION which consist of story books, easy readers book and children story books.

3.0Area of focus 3: Services3.1Current servicesFor the time being, Library only offers offline services, and basic Library services such as: Borrowing/returning Manual renewal Manual reservation Help desk

3.2Development plansLibrary is looking forward to play an important role in delivering many of the strategies particularly in the areas of community engagement (diverse and disadvantaged groups); community education (lifelong learning); capturing community experience and knowledge (sharing and keeping). 3.0Area of focus 4: Information Technology3.1Current technologyFor the time being, Library has been using integrated Library system KOHA to manage every aspect of Library management and services. School are also now subscribed to several online databases mainly for Primary and below usage:

As for use of technology in Library services, currently there is only minimal usage as students and academic staff could not access Library resources via network. Every searching is done manually with assistance from Librarian.

3.2Development PlanLibrary main focus for ICT development is to improve students and academic staff access to variety of Library resources and to expand use of ICT especially in services and resources offered.
