1st Analysis-Miss Congeniality

• In the opening sequence of ‘Miss Congeniality’, I can see there are quite are a lot of titles shown in the sequence. They lasted right up to 4 minutes which will show how many companies and people are involved within the film as well as writing down what they consisted of and the times they were presented. Every title was presented with two different styles of writing, the name of the person/people which was all in capital letters and the people’s role/job in a different colour and in fancy writing. The writing didn’t really fit with the theme of the movie or/ didn't really make a difference but it did stand out in capital letters in a white colour. The names were very bold and striking so it will attract their audience. Most of the titles were shown for only I though suspected so people are able to read the names more longer. The titles were also created digitally. Throughout the title contents their were many things included for example names of actors, actresses, directors, producers and of course the companies who made the film e.g. Warner Bros, Castle Rock Entertainment and Village Roadshow Pictures. There wasn’t a wide range of colours, only a few including white which is a good thing so its too difficult to read. During the titles are being presented their is a crime scene going on in the background which of course is very distracting but the background itself is very dark as the scene is a night so it make the titles stand out more. One thing I did notice is that not all of the titles have the same time difference between them so then it gives people the chance to see whats on the full screen.

2nd-Jurassic World• For my second analysis I chose to look at the opening sequence to Jurassic

World. This film is 3-tier genre, Action, Adventure and Sci-fi when Miss Congeniality was also a 3-tier genre Action, Comedy and Crime so they have some connection in a way. For this particular is the complete opposite to the 1st one. There are only three titles in the opening sequence of Jurassic World which is something you don't see very often in films. So it included the ‘Universal Pictures’ title and ‘Amblin Entertainment ‘and the writing of it in the beginning of the opening sequence and then included the title ‘In Association with Legendary Pictures’ which was all the titles shown. Then of course the title of the film ‘Jurassic World’. The main title of the film seemed to have been much bigger to show the frightfulness and exciting of the film you are going to watch which can also represent the dinosaurs. Each title was presented in capital letters to show a more obvious and bold title but also the style of the titles were in a stone and silvery colour/skin so show the dinosaur effect as well as the time of when dinosaurs were alive. I chose to analyse this particular opening sequence as it hasn’t got very much to do with the 1st film and the titles are completely different but also its quite a good film to analyse. There isn't much action going on in the background so its quite easy to read the titles and it s not so distracting.

Similarities and Differences• In both films even thought the 2nd film has a few more titles there are

still things in common with the 1st film. Both films include the title of the film, which of course most films do but there are quite a few that don't include it at all and the title is up for a certain amount of time to basically introduce the whole film. They both have non-diegetic music playing but in Jurassic Park it is more louder to create more tension and suspense. In Miss Congeniality the its quite quiet and very suttle showing a more nicer introduction. The opening sequence to Miss Congeniality is a very good as its basically showing the main character (Sandra Bullock-Hart) when she is younger and defending a boy and proving the bully wrong even in the end the little boy is horrible to her and then proves him wrong with a punch in the face and then comes in the title of the film. In Jurassic world its a very simple opening sequence as there isn't much within except a dinosaur egg in a science lab and it eventually cracks open revealing the dinosaurs eye with intense music and shortly showing the title of the film.

Conclusion• By undertaking my analysis i have been inspired to put

together my own title sequence and containing different features. The main features i will be including in my own title sequence are:

• The use of boldness in the title• Capital letters• The names of the actors and actresses• The name of directors and producers• Transitions with in the appearance of the title and the exit.• Here are a few examples that i have been inspired by that

i will hopefully take forward into my own work and clarify in my opening sequence:
