It may create a wider fan base for the editor as they may like how the film was edited.

Production designer is an important job as they design everything to do with the production and how it may be run or set up etc. this is included in the title sequence to give the production designer the recognition for their work and allows audiences to decide whether they like the production or not if they would watch more of his work.
