diving
The diving in the Philippines must be seen to be
believed. It’s just that good. All Star Liveaboards
offers two trip itineraries – one to the world famous
reefs of Tubbataha and one to Apo Reef & Coron.
Tubbataha was established as a UNESCO World
Heritage Site in 1993 and is located in the middle of
the Sulu Sea over 80 miles offshore from Palawan.
Tubbataha is comprised of three atolls (North Atoll,
South Atoll and Jessie Beazley) and is home to over
350 coral species, 600 species of fish and 100 bird
species. These atolls are known for clear water and
big creature diving! Whales Sharks, Hammerheads,
Tiger Sharks and Manta Rays can all be found in the
waters surrounding these three Atolls.
The Apo Reef & Coron itinerary includes a diving
adventure to some of the Philippines most famous
dive sites. Apo Reef is the second largest atoll in the
Philippines and home to nearly a dozen species of
sharks, large schools of barracudas and both soft
and hard coral gardens. However, the main focus of
this itinerary is on the wreck diving in Coron. There
are over a dozen World War II Japanese Naval Ships
that were sunk in these waters. Many of these
wrecks lie in waters as shallow as 30 feet making
them perfect for the recreational diver.
Whichever itinerary you choose, All Star -
Philippines excursion onboard the Stella Maris is a
must.
